The Metals

Hi everyone, it's busy busy in the Hart household so another sweet little post from me featuring some of my newest painted metal components. I hope you like them.

First pair with some unusual shaped connectors.  These were very fiddly to paint (only 6mm wide), I don't think I'll be in a hurry to paint more of these.  I added brass caps and tubes on top and Czech glass flowers.  I also added some chain and stars.

For these I used slightly curved brass tubes and added various brass findings including some silver plated brass crowns hiding inside the raw brass caps.

Final pair similar to the first but I've turned the top section upside down to give them a slightly different look.

These are available in my Etsy shop now.  I'll be back in a couple of weeks time, hopefully with newer designs.  Until then, have a lovely weekend <3

A random mix

Hi everyone, for this week's post I have been playing with my latest haul from Petra Carpreau's shop and came up with the following.  I messed around a lot trying to come up with clever designs, not sure I've achieved anything new but here they are.

I absolutely love love these connectors with multiple wire loops. I had a similar pair from Petra several years ago and was really happy to see them again. Not sure why but I felt like making them asymmetrical even though they looked just fine as symmetrical earrings.  I made some wire wrapped hoops in black and periwinkle, and stacked both with my usual brass bits.

Here I used Petra's bobble flower connectors, topped with brass bits and Czech glass flowers, hanging from the bottom are my wire wrapped connectors with slight asymmetry.

Bobble flowers again, teamed with brass flowers and insects.

These are now listed in my Etsy shop.  See you again later this month.

❤πŸ’—πŸ’š Colour Me Hippy πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’›

Hello, how about a splash of colour this week?  Ok maybe not a splash, maybe a flood of COLOURS!!  You may need to get 'them' πŸ•Ά on.

Here are this week's offerings in their group shot. Very colourful wouldn't you say?  I felt the need to brighten up everyone's days as I've been seeing lots of snow on my FB feed lately.

1.  First pair features painted resin and brass charms by Martin Hart, layered (I used to do a lot of layering, now that I've re-discovered it....you will see a lot in this design) with vintage enamel flowers, topped with brass spacers (I have softened the colour on these a little, can you see?) and finished off with delicious sparkling rocks by Maryse Fritzsch-Thillens.

2.  Painted resin and brass charms by Martin Hart, layered with those stunning vintage flowers, sitting on top are Carolyn Saxby tyvek beads.

3.  Painted resin and brass charms by Marin Hart, layered with vintage flowers, topped with Roman glass discs, Maryse's sparkling rocks and sari silk.

4.  and a 4th pair in the same design.  I had these vintage flowers in 4 colours....didn't want to offend the cream/white pair by leaving them out 😁.

There we have it.  A riot of colours.  All of these are now listed in my Etsy shop.  See you in a couple of weeks.

🌟Shine like a star🌟

⭐⭐⭐Hello⭐⭐⭐
Have you guessed this week's theme yet?!  Clue is in the title ;).
So today I bring you several pairs of star studded ear candy.

Group shot of some of them.

This was the first pair I made featuring Invicit pewter stars.  I blinged up the stars with rhinestones, added vintage brass triple star stampings on top for that mixed metal look that I absolutely love.  They are finished with lampwork caps (GlassNatalyaDarlin) and brass hearts.

Second pair features Inviciti's Lady in moon charms along with lampwork butterfly lentils by Helen Chalmers and my wire wrapped hoops.

I made a third pair with Inviciti hands (those Invicit charms are addictive!), added teeny brass stars to keep with the theme, finished them with antique silver plated brass leaves, crowns and lampwork caps.

And finally this pair with Scorched Earth discs.  I didn't add much to these, they looked pretty glamorous just with sari silk and cup chain so I resisted the urge to add more.

I also made this pair with my painted resin daggers but I'm not too sure about these.  They may need a makeover.

You can find out if these did undergo a makeover in my show on Monday where I will be listing this star studded lot.  My show will take place in The Jewellery Show FB group.
Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon.

Hello 2018!

New Year, new ideas?  Well maybe not this time.  I'd only remembered my post was due today, yesterday.  I'm amazed I was able to make anything at all as I got nowhere in my efforts last night.  I tried again this morning and here are the results.  I hope you like them.

Group shot of all 3 pairs.

Lampwork headpins by Linsey Peck, lampwork sparkling rocks by Maryse Fritzsch-Thillens, blinged up with Swarovski spacers plus Czech glass and brass findings.

Lampwork headpins by Linsey Peck, lampwork sparkling rocks by Maryse, ceramic rounds by Jana Bliznokova.

Lampwork headpins by our very own Kimberly Rogers, lampwork sparkling rocks by Maryse Fritzsch-Thillens.

They will be listed in my Etsy shop today. I will be back towards the end of the month with more designs, hope you pop back to see what I've been up to - hopefully not last minute designs 😁

Revisiting

As the title suggests I ran out of ideas and decided to go back old designs.  This has been a very busy week in my house.  Christmas concerts, discos, my little lady's (Zybella's) 1st birthday and recycling of the winter lurgy among all 5 of us- so ideas for new designs weren't happening AT ALL.
Here are my efforts so far.........

Gorgeous Petra Carpreau decals adorned with Czech glass flowers, lampwork spacers and blinged up with Swarovski spacers.

Second pair with Frida decals, again by everyone's (including mine) favourite Petra, Czech glass flowers and ceramic rounds by Jana Bliznakova

Now that I've made 2 pairs I think I've got the 'bug' πŸ˜‚ so I will be making more

Here's a little collage of some of the older designs.

Nothing has changed.  I'm a bit disappointed as I tend to change up older designs in their new versions.  Maybe I will do that another time.
These earrings will be available in my last show of the year here.
Thanks for taking the time to read.  I will be back in a couple of weeks times with my last post of the year.  Take care and have a lovely Christmas/holiday πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh................!!!!

Yes, the screamers.  You may have seen Petra's screamers around for a while - aren't they just fab!!.  I made some earrings with them earier this year and loved them so much that I went back to Petra'a shop and bought a LOT more.  But that's where it stopped.  I had absolutely no idea what to do with them.  Recently I started seeing some pop up in my Instagram and Facebook feed....that sort of inspired me to take them out and have a go again.  In my previous efforts I think I was trying to over-think the design which is why it got nowhere. I kept things simple as the components alone are just WOW and hopefully I've added just enough to accentuate their fabulousness.

The usual group shot.

Screamers with double ended claws, fabric and Czech glass.

Screamers with claws, caps, fabric and Czech glass.

Screamers with claws, caps, fabric and Czech glass.

By this time I had had enough of claws so I used double caps instead with fabric and Czech glass.

I know it's the same design but I'm happy with the way they've turned out.

These and many more will be available in my show on Monday and Tuesday in this group.

Until next time <3

Sleek!

Hi everyone, it feels like ages since I posted here.  What you see below is just the tip of the iceberg πŸ˜„.  I have been in full production mode as I have an earrings showcase on Sunday.  Artists featured in my earrings today are Kimberly Rogers and Melissa Gabelle.

The obligatory group shot πŸ’—

Kimberly's headpins with claw shaped caps.

Kimberly's headpins with some fun brass bits and glass flowers to soften the look a bit.

Melissa's flower caps with brass findings and sari silk

Melissa's flower drops with partinaed brass connectors.

These plus lots of other designs will be available on Sunday in The Earrings Show FB group.
I'll be back in a couple of weeks with new designs, see you then.

Glorious πŸ¦‹ wings

Hi everyone.  Today's post is all about resin wing earrings.  I love these so much...I actually love all wing charms, I have quite a stash of all things 'wingy', made of various mediums including enamel, glass, polymer, ceramic and resin.  Today's post is about resin wings.  These particular ones featured in my earrings are by Susan Linda Stokes of Art & Soul Studios.

Lets start with a group shot because it looks really good when I share the link on Facebook 😎.

I wanted the resin wings to stand out so I made them up in one of my signature designs but in a much simpler manner.  In this pair I added pink seed beads to pick up the pink/purple on the wings.  Not too over the top and quite apt for autumn?

There had to be an all purple pair.  Who doesn't like purple!  Same design as before but I kept it all purple with a little addition of turquoise seeds to break it up ever so slightly.

And a third pair in a different design.  Did you notice how sari silk (and sari trimming on the third pair) have snuck their way into all these earrings.  That massive stash of all things fabric is proving to be very useful right now.

I'm planning on doing a big Etsy shop update sometime next week.  These plus more will become part of that update....as long as my plan works πŸ˜…

See you again soon.

What's wrong with this picture?

Can you see it?

Have you seen it yet?

I'll tell you anyway.
So I made the first earring on the left with 3 antiqued brass rings (top half).  When I went to make the second one I realised I didn't have a 3rd antiqued brass ring.  I searched everywhere, my desk, floor, all the rooms in my house (my beads are everywhere) to no avail.  I still wanted to finish the earrings and decided to use a raw brass ring for the second earring (on the right) in place of the 3rd antiqued ring.  I then undid the first earring and made it up again to match the second one.  I took photos yesterday...everything was perfect.
Later in the day as I began to edit the photos my eyes were drawn to the gold on the right one, I also noticed that there was no gold on the left earring.  I thought to myself "but I made that earring up again to match the second one"
Oops.  Apparently I've made up the same earring twice using the same 3 antiqued rings.  As you can imagine I called myself lots of names which I won't repeat here.  I could not bring myself to make the same earring for a 3rd time with the gold ring so for now they are staying like this. Ceramic connectors by the one and only Petra Carpreau

On a brighter note, I also made these - part of my industrial collection, a phase I am going through right now.  More about phases another time.

That's all for today.  I will be back in a couple of weeks time.  Have a lovely weekend.

The Silk Route

I have a HUGE stash of sari silk and I suspect this is true of most of us?! So a couple of weeks ago I dug them out (literally) and had a play.  I made several pairs of earrings.

Porcelain drops by Melissa Gabelle and the wrapped bundle (as one of my customers called it) consists of a brass tube wrapped in sari silk and cup chain.  If you squint your eyes long enough you should be able to see the sari silk peeking out from under the cup chain. I added some Czech glass flowers in blue and dark orange to match the colours on the drops.

Porcelain caps by Melissa Gabelle.  Stacked up on top are Swarovski rondelles, lampwork beads, Czech glass and some teeny porcelain rounds.  Hanging from underneath are my sari silk and chain wrapped 'bundles' and flower drops.

Top 2 pairs are new but I had to share a 3rd pair I made a couple of weeks ago.  Again they feature porcelain drops by Melissa Gabelle, stacked on top are brass caps and tubes followed by hoops and topped with wrapped sari silk.

Then there are these:

Here I have incorporated sari silk in one of my signature designs. Petra Carpreau Frida drops, wrapped with sari silk and chain and topped with Czech glass rondelles.

Lastly, Petra Carpreau Vermeer drops, slightly asymmetrical.

Now that I have unearthed my sari silk stash - there might a flood of designs featuring the same ;).

I hope you like this week's offerings.  Top 2 pairs will be available in my next online Trunk show and the bottom 2 pairs are currently listed in my Etsy shop.

Have a lovely weekend.

See you in a couple of weeks time.

Gone Industrial....

Hi everyone.  I have been making lots of new earrings for my upcoming earrings only FB show.  I always make several pairs of the same design with slight variations....I keep making the same design until I'm either bored or I run out of supply.  In this case, I ran out of the Petra connectors.

A group shot, just because πŸ˜„

1. with a pair of vintage raw brass filigree beads.

2. With little chunks of tanzanite

3. with little druzy geode chunks

4. and with peace beads

These plus many more will be available in my FB show on Wednesday the 16th from 9pm BST/4PM EST in The Earrings Show group.  Hope you can pop over.

See you again soon.
