Autumn Tapestry

I love me some acorns! Such potential within. Does anyone else get excited that fall is just around the corner? It is my favorite time of year. The way the colors explode into a dazzling natural array of shades is gorgeous. Wear this cozy ensemble with suede skirt, burgundy sweater, tall riding boots, yummy scarf, ultra-hip bag (look at the key closure!) and of course, top it all off with these perfect Autumn Tapestry earrings to welcome in the season.

Love Handmade!!

Our whole reason for being here is that we love handmade! We love creating things for you and we hope you build a love of handmade as we have over our years as jewelry designers.

These earrings are simply created with handmade ceramic discs and handmade lampwork glass beads. They represent everything I believe to be handmade. If only I had the time to also make my ear wires... maybe someday soon...
I have several of these in my Etsy shop. They are different colours and have a multitude of shapes and textures while remaining the same rustic style with handmade components. I have already sold a few pairs so don't miss out on your favorites!

I have a special coupon for our readers today!! Use coupon code EARRINGSEVERYDAY to get 10% off your purchase. Includes everything in my shop. Make sure to enter it at check out, I will not be doing adjustments after.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Key Fobs

Don't ya love it when you can find a new twist on an old component?
These remind me of Key Fobs, not your typical Key Fobs though.

The Raven

The Raven
Carved black horn feathers, with handmade lampwork spacers in light cobalt from The Spacer Shop, and striped Indonesian glass beads from Happy Mango Beads, all on hand-forged sterling silver. These earrings feel sort of gypsy to me--for some reason these little striped Indonesian beads always make me think of gypsy things. Maybe a striped tent?

I'm thinking of something sort of gypsy-goth with these (I NEED these tights!!):

Sky Blue & Woodland Bark

Soft and sweet - these earrings feature tiny felt beads that have been embellished with french knots.  Handcrafted polymer clay beads and brass bead caps finish the design.  They remind me of walking through the woods: cloudy skies above, earthy flora below. These felt bead earrings can be found in my Etsy shop.

Dance of the Dragonfly

I just love these dragonfly charms by Patina Queen. I paired them with some purple metal hoops that I took off of an old pair of "1980's" earrings and then used a couple of Bubby & McGurk lampwork beads.

I think they would look great with this outfit...

The Best Kind of Earrings....

are ones that are given to you!

I thought I would re-create the earrings from my Bead Soup the other day, since I got so many sweet comments on them, this time using very cool borosilicate artisan beads from JavaBead.  Embellished with my hand formed copper bead caps and torch-fired enamel headpins.  Simple design, but they pack a punch!

How can they be yours?

1. Leave a comment.
2. Follow Earrings Everyday
3. Blog about the giveaway or Earrings Everyday in general (provide link)
4. Share on Facebook or Twitter

Winner will be drawn Sunday evening.  Good luck!

Flight of the Conchords

If you've never seen Flight of the Conchords, you should really take a minute and watch some of the videos on YouTube or Hulu it. It's so funny.  Oh but you're here for the earrings?
I created these using some sweet Jade Scott copper resin charms, copper link chain, and faceted czech glass. I love longer earrings lately, and these seem to go with anything. You can find these for sale in my webshop.

Oh you're curious?? Here's a good laugh for you then! Enjoy!

Garden in the Mist

I have been on a kick lately to just grab whatever is in front of me and start creating. I dumped out bag after bag on my table the other night to find hoarded treasures that even I forgot I had purchased, never mind when I purchased them!

I came across this cute little decorated resin tabs with a sweet purple damask type image on them. Next to that was a pile of Vintaj brass blanks. And on the other side of the table were my bottles of alcohol inks. So I hammered away at those brass disks, buffed them up to reveal the texture, dribbled ink on top and then later some Gilder's Paste. Lo and behold there were even some sweet pink crystals lying around!

I call these Garden in the Mist and they are the first pair of earrings for sale at my new {in progress} website. (Hopefully, not for long!).

I attended an outdoor garden party wedding this weekend and I could see wearing this ensemble to the fete under the stars. Find the perfect garden hues and pair them with the perfect strappy purple heels and don these perfect little earrings to celebrate the perfect pair!

Wrapped Dangles

I love dangles! I love the feel of them on my neck, the sound they make when they move, I love the way they poke out of my hair to reveal a hidden secret. These have a wonderful sparkle to them and will look wonderful poking out of your hair!
I tend to make things more than one at a time these days, so here is a second pair, same as the first but in green! What a great mix of colour! Don't miss out on these great earrings, now listed in my Skye Jewels Etsy Shop!!

You can find these and many more fabulous earrings in my shop or on my website. Don't forget to come visit my Skye Jewels Blog to see more of what I am up to!

Fire and Rain

This week I created 2 pair of earrings using the same Rustic Drop beads by Outwest.
They were so cool on their own
I wanted to create very simple designs that let the wonderful beads shine through.

FIRE
I did really crazy messy wire wrapping on these beautiful red rustic drops.

RAIN

And super simple chain strung through these lovely blue beads.

Glacier Green

Glacier Milk
This color of green is exactly the color of "glacial milk"--that milky, opaque pale jade green of a high glacial lake.  In fact, it reminds me of Grinnell Lake in Glacier National Park.  I wish I could post a picture of it here! But I don't have any of my own. You'll have to check the link above! HERE is another view. It really does look this opaque and green in person!

These earrings feature all sterling silver construction, recycled glass from Happy Mango Beads in old-fashioned Coke-bottle sea green, and little 4mm faceted Czech rounds in "prairie green."

I picture these with a fun, clean-lined summer ensemble made for beachside shopping:

Copper Hearts

Lately I have been on such a copper kick! I love the copper blanks that Fire Mountain Gems offer on their website. I have been hammering them, stamping them, dipping them in liver of sulfur...the possibilities are endless. I added some Bubby & McGurk Beads to these heart blanks and I love the way they turned out.

I could easily picture them with this ensemble that I put together on Polyvore.....

Butterscotch and Seafoam?

I was going through my stash of Czech glass beads a couple of days ago, you know, just lookin', fondling, thinking!  I spied the tiny little daggers with a Picasso finish..the little splashes of blue, in a hue somewhere between teal and mint...seafoam(?) and they started screaming at me to use them!  I wove tiny flowers with copper wire, and thought, "sweet", but decided they needed something else.  Luckily, in the same box of beads, were these larger leaf beads in that same butterscotch yellow family.  I love the sort of milky, not quite transparent, but definitely not opaque, quality they have. So, I wove flowers from them as well, and attached the smaller flowers to dangle beneath.  I finished them up with my sterling and copper earwires, patinaed them with liver of sulfur, and polished them up, but they were sort of blah...I mean, they were cute, but they were definitely missing something.  I tossed them in my "holding" box (one of my many recycled Luncheables trays) and walked away from them.  Yesterday, I was working on a necklace for my sister and noticed some beads I had put aside that I wanted to try to incorporate...I only had a couple, so to make sure I could find them again, I tossed them in the box as well.  As luck would have it, they landed right next to the meh earrings that I just finished.  Pop!  That splash of color was exactly what I was looking for.

I must be thinking of autumn...I can envision wearing these with an oversized sweater, jeans and boots!

Inspired by Lily Pads

A recent trip to Maine to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, inspired me to get back into the studio to make these earrings!  Fine Pewter lily pad focals are wire wrapped with some etched Lampwork glass beads and a knotting technique with matte seed beads around wire forms.  Lots of texture and great color for Summer! I imagined myself back at the gardens relaxing at the Meditation Pool. There was nothing quite like it!
You can find these earrings for sale in my webstore!
