Earthy Ceramics

I'm a big fan of ceramics and porcelains in my pieces and I'm always on the look out for new works.  I just happen to stumble across ETSY shop Butterfly Emporium who started offering these little ceramic charm sticks/slabs.  I was drawn to them for their rich color, organic textures and overall pricing.   I ended up purchasing three sets to start and all sold in just a short period of time.  They are super light in weight and all come with a wire loop.

I love this bursting blue flow,  I just happen to have some lovely lamp-work glass caps that were some what mismatched in color, because the drops had such a variety of tones, there was no problem combining the two, ☺

Another great earthy look with more mismatched lamp work square glass beads.  Bottom pair is combined with Etched Agate rounds and porcelain spacers.

So head on over and see if there is something you cant live without,  I guarantee your gonna love em!!!

See you in a couple weeks friends, ♥

The Little Flapper Girls

Now the Flapper was my kind of woman;  Light-hearted, nonconformists who eagerly tried new clothing styles not to mention challenging traditional ideas of behavior by wearing make-up, publicly drinking, smoking & acting unladylike.

They sported a short bobbed do, wore lipstick, rouge and short fringed skirts, giving the title, "It Girl".

That is exactly what this fun, free spirited design reminds me of. These have become a huge hit.  I wasn't sure how they were going to be perceived, but I sold 4 pair, 2 to the same customer; one for her and the other a gift.  Who would not love to fashion these little gals!!

The hand painted wood heads are so darn cute, each one slightly different.  I bought the brass flower beads off ETSY and hand painted them in girly pink, of course, folded over some soft copper flower caps and finished them with copper findings.  Ball end headpins strung with rounds of cream Howlite serve as tiny swinging feet.

I was provided a little gift with my next head order, Its a BOY!!
OMG, how cute is he? Now you have it, a Flapper Couple ♥

These are totally out of my design style, but I had such a great time working with them, I hope the trend continues.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, share a comment or two if you can and we will see you again July 6th.

Amethyst & Turquoise

One of my favorite gemstone combinations to work with is Amethyst and Turquoise. I just love the colors together and the texture. They would pair nicely with this pretty floral scarf I found on Etsy.

While looking at my Pinterest boards, I noticed that I pin quite a lot of the aqua and purple color combos. This is one of my favorites. It is by Dapper Images.

Drops of Fun!

I have a secret love of polymer clay. These little drops are just simply too adorable not to be paired with some ornate bead caps and girly flowers! I have been particularly drawn to the colour turquoise lately and just loved the way these flowers pulled those tones from the background of the charms.
These bead caps just make gooey all over. Sooo ornate and just amazing! They fit some nicely over the flowers. Simply perfect!

You can find these and other designs in my ETSY shop. There is even still a sale on just for today... AWHOLIDAY will save you 15% at checkout!! but remember, it's for cyber Monday only!!

Sweeping Tree Jewelry Display

There is something so beautiful about a tree. I love the sturdy trunks and their graceful branches reaching up. I have several metal jewelry trees on my dressers and I am always drawn to that natural shape for displaying jewelry.

I came across this very pretty Sweeping Tree Jewelry display on Etsy from seller Lauren Mollica. Bracelets, necklaces and rings can be hung on this piece of modern art, but what I love most is all the little slots that are specifically designed to hold up to 60 pairs of earrings. I like the fact that it would be out and visible. In my own jewelry boxes I forget about my treasures if I can't see them. Plus I have so many gorgeous pieces of art jewelry it would be a shame not to show them off!
Check out Lauren's other awesome jewelry displays in her sold items on Etsy (I really want to buy the Dancer for my own Tiny Dancer!).

Athena

To me, these copper discs had a Greek look to them, so after thinking about it I decided on Athena. Athena was a goddess of inspiration & arts and crafts among other things. I was certainly inspired by these gorgeous copper discs and I thought that these lampwork beads by Bubby & McGurk Beads would work perfectly with them. I also love these Czech glass beads from Arte Bella Surplus.

I think they would perfectly complement this scarf that I found on Etsy a few weeks ago.

To see these earrings (sorry, earrings have just been SOLD) and more of my jewelry pieces, please visit my shop.

Thanks for looking...

Earring Display: More Eco-Chic Jewelry Display

Another cool find from Tangle And Fold on Etsy!

This time the simple frame has this cool scroll effect to it. Hemp string is pulled taut to serve as a display for earrings and the little juts in the wood are perfect for adding your necklace and bracelets to. I like that these displays are all created using reclaimed wood and materials from construction through an organization called "Build It Green" in New York. The red color on this clever display would look great hanging in my bathroom!

Earring Display: Eco-Chic Jewelry Cabinet

Want something unique, rustic and eco-friendly for an earring and jewelry display? Enter the clever wall boxes made by TangleAndFold on Etsy.

The wood is purchased from an organization called "Build It Green" in New York that sells used construction supplies. The door on this one is an old window pane (sans the glass) and I like that this works for all the jewelry in my wardrobe! The interior on these have all these funky little nooks and crannies and this particular one even has a SECRET COMPARTMENT for storing all your most important treasures. That speaks to my inner child. I loved things like that when I was younger. (Okay. I still do!)

This is just such a great idea and every single one is unique! Check it out!
