Beach Walk

Me, about 1966, on the Washington coast
Do you walk the beach with one eye on the waves and the other eye scanning the sand for sea treasures? These earrings look like I had emptied my pockets after a day at the ocean and had gathered together my best finds.
Spiral sea shells, tiny stars reminiscent of starfish and vintage coral (I never buy new coral, because coral reefs are dying in much of the world).
It's almost as if you could hear the roar of the surf while wearing these earrings - the next best thing to being there.
Me, backpacking on the Washington coast, about 1974.

  3. Yes I do - I have a hoard of favourite pebbles and stones. Lovely earrings, Linda. And I agree on the coral - fortunately I have loads of my mothers vintage coral to work with.

  5. The first pic reminded me of all our summer vacations to the beach. I still crave the smell of the ocean and the dashing of the waves. It is the place I fully relax. Thanks for the post and I love the earrings.

  7. Linda, thank you so much for sharing those photos of you on the beach. . . I imagine those days hold some very special memories for you. The earrings, indeed, look as though they belong at the shore. How wonderful to live near an ocean. :) Our lakes actually provide much the same feeling, to be honest, but yet there's a difference. . . lovely earrings. You're right on the coral; I'm always on the lookout for a good substitute. Please forgive my delay in commenting. <3
