Retro Temple

Hello, Beady Peeps!

I was in the mood for something different, so here we go...

Rustic, distressed patina pewter charms by Inviciti. I remember when I bought  these because I loved them so much I purchased multiples! When I like something, I tend to REALLLY like it a lot!!  lol

Vincent and Nooma always come up with interesting and exquisite new finishes.  I wanted to play on that touch of burnt orange they subtlety added so I paired them with these lovely rare carved vintage Celluloid beads from the 40's. Then, gave them an added pop of color with another pair of green carved vintage pieces also from the 1940's.

I love the multicultural vibe of these earrings and hope you do too!

  1. Love these!! Every single detail, especially the red carved beads (where on earth did you find these), and the chain.

    1. Thank you, Janie! The beads are from a vintage bead dealer and I bought what she had! The chain is interesting because it has the same outline as the carving in the bead! I will try to find you a link for the chain (no pun intended,...hahaha)

  5. As always Loralee these earrings come from a very special place. Putting those two opposing brights with pale could be tricky, but you had the vision to do what you did and it worked so beautifully. The dark caps pick up the visible pewter in Vincent ‘n Nooma’s pieces and that made it! Adding the gorgeous, unusual chain to blend with the oxidized copper was the icing that made it perfect. I couldn’t help analyzing it because I KNOW I would not have selected those brights, and I wanted to understand what made it work. I also know that it’s likely that none of those thoughts crossed your mind; your innate creative sense knew what to do. You are always inspiring. In so many different ways. Thank you for sharing your talent. ❤️

    1. Thank you so much, Norbel!! I used the grey metal to sort of calm the colors and give it a nice neutral. Think how amazing it would be to wear charcoal grey and just have those earrings as the pop of color.
