A Walk in the Woods

These earrings were inspired by one of my favorite places and times of year - a walk on a worn path in the woods during Autumn.  I love the change of seasons and the show that Mother Nature pulls out for us in the fall.  I found these yummy two-toned Czech glass beads on a trip last weekend, a little bead shopping makes any adventure better.

I paired up the glass with tiny nickel seed beads, a handcrafted disk bead inspired by birch trees and copper.

And speaking of adventures, I would totally wear these earrings on a walk down my favorite nature path and I would grab a beautiful handmade journal, like this one from Explosive Art, before I headed out the door.  What is a walk in the woods without some time for reflection and capturing those fleeting inspirations?

It's been so warm here in PA I've been exploring with my camera....

to my surprise, Spring is near! 

I love birds and have feeders & houses all around the farm...

Today's earrings were inspired by the longing for warmer days..

and the first sighting of my bluebird families~  

My fashion statement on most days is....Muck boots and jeans....

I would be happy to throw these on and sneak through the gardens..

Packaging Ideas: Tying It All Together

A simple way to carry your branding to your packaging is to start with basic jewelry boxes, I like kraft ones, but black or white paper ones are nice too.

Roll on a little washi tape in a coordinating color around the box.

And tie up with a little bakers twine in the same color family.

Washi tape and twine come in just about every color.  It's a fun and simple way to dress up a gift box and carry your colors throughout your packaging.

Om is a sacred Hindu symbol that has become increasingly popular in design and art. I love these Om charms by Tierra Cast and I paired them up with Lampwork beads by Bubby & McGurk Beads.

I totally fell in love with these drop-dead gorgeous borosilicate glass beads by the talented Lori Robbins as soon as I saw them!  The blue and green combo reminds me of the lush tropical greens and cool azure blue ocean from a long-ago trip to Hawaii…anyone else need a vacation?  This may be as close as I get!

These quick and easy earrings show that sometimes all you need to create beautiful unique jewelry is to just combine beautiful components…not alot of extras.  I simply embellished the glass beads with a lovely Thai Hill Tribe silver flower charm, and a Balinese silver bead or two, then dangled them from my hand-wrought sterling earwires.

I have a market day coming up this Saturday and will definitely be creating a few more simple pairs like this!

Swinging Sticks with Discs

My inspiration for these earrings comes from a summery outfit that I put together from Anthropologie.  I can't wait for the nice weather to return! Not only that but am hoping that this summer, I can comfortably wear shorts and tanks after having gone to the gym all winter. 

The earrings are crafted with hammered sticks of steel wire, and sweet etched lampwork discs that sit just above the hammered ends.  The earring wires are brass and are nickel free, for those allergic.
