Hello peeps,
How are you all doing?
Well, autumn has arrived here in Greece as well and with those beautiful leaves falling from the trees I was getting a bit in a gypsy mood. Can you tell by looking at these earrings?
Being a hoarder I have been able to amass quite a stash of sari silk as well as seed beads.
I wanted to incorporate those tiny seed beads into my design, so I stitched some peyote bead tubes.
Together with sari silk, Czech glass and some chain they turned out exactly how I had envisioned them.
I couldn't stop myself and made three pairs, with lots of new ideas for more.
Which pair do you like the most?
These are now available in my shop.
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to see you again next month. As you know we at Earrings Everyday love to read your comments so please, don’t be shy and leave one. It doesn’t have to be in English :)

These are lovely Janine, and what you have done with the seed beads is so original - those little tubes/caps are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lesley for you lovely comment :) The beauty of seed beads is they are so versatile. The great variation in color and their size is so easy to work with.
DeleteThese are so unique, original, and fabulous!! I love that you started out with horded scraps. But the peyote tub to tasselize the sari silk it just genius! I love them all but really drawn to the deep dark green silk pair.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jetta :) And the horded scraps are, well, huge. I still don't understand (and my hubby neither) how I was able to hoard so much, and most of all, where I stored it. We have very limited storage space in our mobile home, but still I find places to keep my stuff. Well, we are not able to drive with the truck anymore as the steering wheel is buried LOL.
DeleteThe idea of using a peyote tube to encase the tassel is fantastic and the earrings all look grea
ReplyDeleteThank you Divya :) Your comment is much appreciated. I love bead weaving and peyote is one of my favorite stitches.
DeleteOooo these are lovely, very magical,I do love your stitching xx💖💖

DeleteOh my word! Original or what? Those pink ones ♡♡♡
ReplyDeleteThank you Lindsay :) Yep, the pink ones are my favorite as well LOL
DeleteWow, these are absolutely gorgeous!!!! Love every single pair Janine 😍😍😍
ReplyDeleteThank you Suhana :)
DeleteThese are so luscious! I love all three of them, but the green ones on the left call to me (despite my being more of a blue gal). Your use of the coral with the green really makes them make a statement. Gorgeous work!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment! I never thought coral with green would work, but it did :)
DeleteThis information has really been helpful for most of the readers. I really appreciate the way you have written about this. I will really like to read more on this from you. sterling silver dangle earrings
ReplyDeleteOh, Janine, these are gorgeous! I love sari silk, and I really, really adore what you did with the seed beads! All three pairs are fab, but I'm another one who especially loves the pink ones! So much fun! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Meridy. Your comment is so appreciated. The pink ones are my favorite as well. And I have more ideas for sari silk and seed beads. Once you get started...
DeleteJanine, these are so creative, feminine, hippie/gypsy. The silk, the chain, the stitched seed beads, all wonderful elements. I think it's time I try to teach myself some simple (if there is such a thing) seed bead stitching????? Thank you for the inspiration, Janine. Wonderful. <3
