Gypsy Hoops

I love the look of adding ribbon and fibers to earrings and I hadn't done that in quite awhile so when I decided to use these gorgeous lampwork beads (by Bubby & McGurk Beads) that I had been hoarding, I went through my Sari silk ribbon stash first. I added some Czech beads and some dark red coral beads and lots of wire wrapping!

Cosmos

These earrings feature gorgeous lampwork beads by Bubby & McGurk Beads and my own hammered copper washers. I decided to name them Cosmos because they reminded me of a planet in orbit.

Snowflakes

I love snowflakes and how each one is unique. I couldn't wait to try out Copper clay with a snowflake stamp that I have. I have used PMC3 and Bronze clay in the past, but this was my first attempt at Copper clay. I did a light patina on them to bring out the snowflake stamp. Lampwork beads are by Bubby & McGurk Beads.

I just had to share this lovely photo of a snowflake...love the detail.

Sun Ray Drops

I just recently began etching metal and I've really enjoyed it, and, except for the ferric chloride stain on my kitchen island, it's been a lot of fun. After etching these teardrops, I knew I wanted to use some Bubby & McGurk lampwork headpins that I have been hoarding.

Copper Leaves

Ah..November 1st.....It is certainly feeling like Autumn as of late and the weather has inspired these earrings. It's my favorite season hands down....what's not to love? Gorgeous trees, colorful pumpkins and gourds, fire pits, hot cider...er, make that a salted caramel mocha latte from Starbucks for me.

Peace Signs

I have a thing for peace signs and I love wearing them, be it a t-shirt, a scarf or a pair of earrings...they are always "in" with me. I made this pair last night using Bubby & McGurk head pins, Czech glass and Magnesite beads. The Irish waxed linen cord is from Ornamentea.

Out of Orbit

I had to snatch a few of these lampwork beads that my husband made before we sold them all a few weeks ago. I'm so glad I did! I just love them. I wanted to wire wrap them at a bit of an angle like they were actually floating out in the atmosphere somewhere. Sienna Vineyards

Lately I've become addicted to wire wrapping seed beads. I really like the messy look of it and it's fun. I paired these burnt sienna colored seed beads with these lampwork beads by Bubby & McGurk Beads.  I flattened a couple of Vintaj bead caps and added a seed bead to those as well.

Dance of the Dragonfly

I just love these dragonfly charms by Patina Queen. I paired them with some purple metal hoops that I took off of an old pair of "1980's" earrings and then used a couple of Bubby & McGurk lampwork beads.

Copper Hearts

Lately I have been on such a copper kick! I love the copper blanks that Fire Mountain Gems offer on their website. I have been hammering them, stamping them, dipping them in liver of sulfur...the possibilities are endless. I added some Bubby & McGurk Beads to these heart blanks and I love the way they turned out.

I could easily picture them with this ensemble that I put together on Polyvore.....

Copper Obsession Earrings

I'm calling these latest earrings, Copper Obsession, and that's because lately I have been obsessed with hammering copper and then using liver of sulfur to patina on the pieces. I just can't stop, I took a break from it a year or so ago and now I'm back to it. Copper has to be my favorite metal to work with AND to wear. These gorgeous lampwork beads are by Bubby & McGurk Beads.

I think they'd look great with this cute summer combo!

Inspired By...

Last month I was inspired by Kristi Bowman's "Sari Silk and Buttons" earrings and also by Erin Strother's "Enlightenment " earrings on the cover of Bead Trends magazine, April issue. The Sari silk...the copper...just lovely...so I had to make a pair of my own! I found a pair of Bubby and McGurk Beads that I have been wanting to use and matched some Sari silk to them and after a failed attempt (I forgot to add a loop to the top to attach the ear wire! duh) I finally had a pair...gotta love inspiration!

I'd pair them with this mint colored scarf by Ecoshag .

Athena

To me, these copper discs had a Greek look to them, so after thinking about it I decided on Athena. Athena was a goddess of inspiration & arts and crafts among other things. I was certainly inspired by these gorgeous copper discs and I thought that these lampwork beads by Bubby & McGurk Beads would work perfectly with them. I also love these Czech glass beads from Arte Bella Surplus.

I think they would perfectly complement this scarf that I found on Etsy a few weeks ago.

Flower Child

I'm crazy about these flower beads my husband makes (Bubby & McGurk Beads) and since spring is right around the corner, I was inspired to be colorful. 

I think they would look great paired with this blouse from Sundance Catalog. Oh how I LOVE that catalog! 

Of course I could totally picture this flower child wearing them as well :)

Mystical Traveler

 

I just love these lampwork beads that my husband made; to me they look mystical-hence the name. I paired them with Czech beads in a gorgeous shade of plum and lemon. Did some wire wrapping and voila! A pretty pair of earrings.

Wouldn't they look great with this scarf?

 

And of course jeans and boots to complete the look!
