"Christmas children live in a Christmas daydream
Waiting for the magic to unfold
Wondrous things to eat
Every Christmas treat
Rich or not the Christmas pot of gold
Hypnotizes children young and old."
Leslie Bricusse
Above, beautiful ceramic Santa charms by Kiyoi Design and amazing silver tipped urchin spacers by Tom Gronwall of The Jewel Weaver. These stunners mimic vintage mercury glass and when I saw the old fashioned father Christmas I knew they would make a wonderful match! I've had them in my bead box for a while waiting for the right time.
Below, again, ceramic charms by Kiyoi Design. The wonderful holly accent beads are by Susan Kennedy of SueBeads. The shape, size and pattern were exactly what was needed! Whimsical, but sophisticated.

Thinking of Christmases past, I'm a total puddle of mush this time of year. I miss my grandparents so much that my eyes well up with tears at the very thought of the wonderful memories they have given me. What I wouldn't give for just one more...

DeleteAs ever, you never fail to wow. The beads in your stash are magnificent because you have a keen eye for all these unique and beautiful. But the way you combine them - and photograph them - take them over the top. Beautiful photo of your dear grandparents. So much love can be sensed between them. Enjoy the day, Miss Loralee! Erin xo

DeleteLoralee, you simply nail it each and every time. Your work comes from your very soul. It is honest, sincere, never contrived. And I get your puddle of mush; I still miss my mother every single day. She WAS Christmas, at least Christmas Eve, and it's something I don't enjoy yet. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Loralee. Wrap your heart around a memory and send it off to them. They know. <3

ReplyDeleteLoralee - these ARE Christmas! Every bit of magic. I have such memories of my own grandmothers last Christmas - I had bought her Johnny Mathis' record When a Child is Born. I was about 3 weeks pregnant with my daughter, and told Gran I was naming her Sarah after her if she was a girl (which she was). She went to bed happy as Larry on the 27th Dec and just didn't wake up for her cup of tea next morning. A good way to go x
