A Little Glamour, A Little Crackle

I've been messing around with polymer clay quite a bit lately and my favorite thing to make is headpins. The earrings are nearly complete and I find just adding an accent bead or two is enough to make a statement.
These are lightweight enough that  anyone can wear them. Seems I have a few seniors that are finding that heavy earrings are a problem for them.
These are made with real copper leaf and are reminiscent of the ulu cutting tools that the Inuit use here in Alaska

You can find some other shapes and sizes of my polymer headpins in my Etsy shop
Sorry for the quickie post  but I'm out the door to our farmers market 100 miles from here to see if I can sell some more earrings!
Thanks,
Kimberly Rogers

  1. Kim, these are amazing! I hadn't seen you use the copper leaf with the polymer clay, and its addition really puts these front and center! I love them! There's nothing like a gorgeous pair of lightweight earrings to make a woman feel good, senior or not. :) Heavy earrings are a problem, I agree. I can't wear them. I'd wear these, in a heartbeat! Great earrings; great post.

    1. Thanks so much Norbel, It was a whim to try using the copper leaf. I know it's been done before but it was an experiment for meat that moment.

    2. It really doesn't matter if it's been done before, does it? :) I doubt anyone has used it with a headpin that looks like this!! And that makes it totally unique! They are amazing! And i want some, please. :)

    1. Erin, I have been doing a little bit of crackle experimenting but haven't tried her tute yet. What is it about distress and decay that is so compelling?
