Banded

This is my ninth post for this blog and it's odd, for me, that this is the first time I've shared a pair of earrings featuring Scorched Earth elements.

It's odd because a large number of my designs, and particularly earring designs, feature Petra's ceramics.  Many of her pieces are sold in pairs that demand to be made into earrings.  And I'm sure that, in working with Petra's pieces, I've learnt a heap of earring-making lessons.  Perhaps, in holding off, I was trying to avoid being predictable, because I'm kinda addicted to them really.  You can see the extent of my problem here....

In this pair, I've teamed these gorgeous rich turquoise and bronze bands with some long drops of ruby zoisite, some antique brass caps, and some little czech glass accents.  I received the stones through error - the supplier sent me somebody else's order. I'm not crazy about ruby zoisite, to be honest, but I'm quite happy with these, and that, in no small part, is down to Petra's lovely ceramics.

They're available here in my Etsy shop.

Bye for now, Claire

  2. Wow! That is a lot of Petra's work in one place! I think it is funny but I do believe that there is one perfect art bead artist for everyone. Mine is Heather Powers of Humblebeads. I have drawers and bins and pretty footed glass bowls with her work. And a lot of it I find it hard to part with! I love all art beads - I do not own anything from Petra! Must remedy that - and they find their way into everything I create. These are so lovely. Remind me of cicada wings. Enjoy the day. Erin

  8. Sooooo very pretty! I'm not usually a big fan of ruby zoisite either, but you've truly made something fabulous with them and they are absolutely beautiful. I did not know about Petra's work, thank you for introducing her to my world (oh boy.... that could be dangerous LOL) :)
