Northern Lights

I love Fluorite and I love pairing it with silver! I bought a strand of these pillow faceted gemstones several years ago and I use them very sparingly (some might call it hoarding!). I oxidized the sterling ear wires, washers and wire with liver of sulphur. One of the things that I find most interesting about using gemstones in my jewelry is the healing powers associated with many of them. Fluorite is known as the "multi-tasking" gemstone. It is what they call multi-dimensional, in that it advances the highest aspect of the mind and balances the negative and positive aspects of the mind and ego which allows one to experience inner peace. Sounds good to me! It is also such a gorgeous gemstone.

Have a fabulous weekend! Oh, and remember next Friday Erin will be posting an inspiration for our monthly "We're All Ears" challenge. This month's challenge was a lot of fun so be sure to check it out.

  1. I love Flourite too and these Earrings are soooo pretty!! That name is absolutely perfection for them!

  2. I love Fluorite too! One of my favorite stones! I love the contrast of shapes and the wire wrapping at the center of these. The oxidation works so beautifully with the coloring of the stone. Really lovely!

  3. Very pretty and a bit mysterious. I love flourite as well.

  4. I love fluorite too, I love the subtle coloration, and how some stones are a mix of the blue-green and lavender. I also love it with silver. These are beautiful--the simplicity lets the fluorite be the stah!

  5. Such a wonderful stone, Fluorite! And yes, really lovely with oxidized silver that gives a ancient mystical quality to the earrings.

  6. The variegation of the stones is so beautiful but I love most is this cushion cut that really lets the colors sing! Thank you also for the shout out about the upcoming We're All Ears Challenge! All ready to go! Enjoy the day. Erin
