<<Giveaway is closed. Winners announced on this post!>>
To kick off the new year, we have been making some changes around here at Earrings Everyday (have you noticed?). We have new contributors and an updated look, but we still have that love of making, wearing and sharing earrings. One of the things that is missing is you. We know that we are not the only ones who love earrings and are making them, and we want to see what you are making. So we are starting a brand new monthly challenge called We're All Ears. This is your opportunity to shine!
On the first Friday of every month, I will share with you an inspiration. It could be a photo, a painting, a textile, a place, a person or a song. Or maybe it will be a poem, a movie, interior decorating, or architecture.
Then you are invited to bust your stash and whip out some earrings based on the inspiration and write a blog post about it. You can chose what to be inspired by - the colors, theme, subject, mood, etc. Our contributors will hopefully be playing along as well.
And we will all meet up here, on the 3rd Friday of the month, with a blog hop using InLinkz. Just load up your blog URL for the post and hop around to see what others have made. It will be fun!
Yes, it is a quick turnaround. But that is what is so great about earrings. They can be whipped up in a matter of minutes using just the leftovers from all your other beading projects. We know you can do it! You don't need to purchase anything new (unless you want to!), you get to show off your creativity and draw more people to your blog, and you will also have at least one pretty pair of earrings for yourself or for someone else. I think that sounds like a win-win!
So are you interested in getting inspired? Here is the February We're All Ears inspiration:

To participate in the We're All Ears creative challenge:
Make earrings inspired by this picture.
Write a post on your blog.
Add your link to the InLinkz on Friday, February 21st.

Giveaway #8 + #9::Erin Prais-Hintz, Tesori Trovati Jewelry
Two giveaways!
First is for a hand painted earring holder that I created in the Pantone color of the year: Radiant Orchid.
(Did you know that you can find the Pantone colors at Lowe's? And you can buy a small jar of that paint already to go? How cool is that? I'm keeping this paint chip on the wall in my studio to remind me of this color all year long.)
This one of a kind display looks great on a wall, hanging from a pretty ribbon or propped up on a decorative easel.
Second is for a pair of earrings featuring etched and patinated dapped copper disks from Lisa Liddy at Metal Me This with sparkling Swarovski crystals. This is a riff on my recent creation Wild Blackberry Cordial.

What beautiful earrings - what talented artists - and the a fabulous inspiring photograph. I am off to visit everyone's etsy sites and blogs. I have long been an avid follower and I might just pluck up courage to enter your earring challenge - and of course I will spread the word and be back when I have done it so that I can enter your generous and amazing giveaway
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea to hold an earring blog hop. this winter I have been suffering from inertia and this is just what I need to get creating again (haven't made a thing since Christmas ). I just recently started to follow this blog through bloglovin though I had popped by previously , now it's a daily treat. I'm off to post this to my Facebook page then i'll be back to tell you
ReplyDeleteoh , my fave earrings are ones I made with hardware store washers that i dapped till curved added then to purplish gemstones with gunmetal wire. simple , and go with everything. Plus the hammering got rid of some energy and frustration lol.
I guess i should have made two comments not put everything in one but my fave earrings are hardware store washers ,see previous comment post
ReplyDeleteI can't remember how I stumbled upon this blog, but I'm so glad I decided to follow!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite earrings are a little pair of silver dangly hearts. They were given to me by my husband about ten years ago ~ he just turned up with them one day, no special reason, not for a birthday or anniversary ~ which somehow makes them more special.
My favorite earrings are super simple--just a pair of white pearl studs. They go with everything, and I tend to wear a lot of necklaces and don't get into the matchy matchy thing, so these are perfect. I also always wear a second diamond stud in one ear only. Again, goes with everything, simple, and understated. All these earrings are gorgeous--I'd love to win a pair!
ReplyDeleteI'm following the blog! woohoo!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite earrings are a pair of Elsa Perretti "nugget" earrings. I had my jeweler remake them from studs to dangles. They go with everything. Of course I mix them up with my own handmade earrings!
ReplyDeleteI shared this on my FB page. Some of my favorite earrings that I wear the most, I made myself. They're LoS copper wire shaped like those shower curtain rings, with 3 dangles: an eggplant pearl stick, a dark mustard ceramic spike, and a bright silver faceted drop crystal. They go with everything and I get a lot of compliments on them :)
ReplyDeleteThey are a pair of silver and copper circles that I won from Patti Vanderbloemen and they are perfect for me - both silver and copper - which I wear all the time. There are some incredibly gorgeous earrings by some very talented artists here - thank you for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower and excited to be! I am & have been a huge fan of Cindy's Art & Soul jewelry for a long time!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower - love this blog!
ReplyDeleteAlready a follower and a fan! Yay for monthly challenges! Love the giveaways! My go-to pair of earrings are Hill Tribe silver leaf/flower beads hanging from silver wires!
ReplyDeleteHi Erin! This is a great idea! Earrings are my favorite to create and to wear. My favorite pair to wear is a pair I've had for many, many years. They are handmade (bought at our local fair) with just a simple tiger eye bead strung with silver headpin and ear hook. For dressier occasions anything goes! From my own designs to other designers earrings.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite earrings to wear, those I'm wearing at the moment are a pair I made two years ago with lamp work glass beads and tiny bottles with sand dangling from them.
Thought I was already a follower - but signed up again :) - love changes and love all the fabulous give-aways. I don't feel dressed without my Earrings in - I love Sterling Silver and Brass with geometric shapes and lots of dangles. Here's to the new Earrings Everyday blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower! What a great contest and I want to participate and create a pair of earrings with the fabulous inspiration you have provided... very cool!
ReplyDeleteCheers and good luck everyone! Nathalie Lesage CanadianRockiesArt
Like JlynnJewels, I thought I was a follower too...but I know I am now! (Twice the following fun??) I'm so excited by this monthly earring challenge. I've really been missing the earring challenge from AJE that I participated in last year and have been keeping it up for myself over on my blog. Glad to have a new outlet where we can all play along!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite pairs of earrings to wear, is a pair that I've made with gorgeous Turquoise & Gold polymer clay beads that Cindy Pack made... she is not only an accomplished metalsmith, she is also an extremely talented Polymer Clay Artist. I treasure our collaborative pieces and enjoy wearing them regularly :)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Nathalie Lesage CanadianRockiesArt
Entry # 2, I just shared the link over on my Facebook page. Even if I didn't make jewelry and get inspired by all the lovelies here, I would still love this blog. So many cute pairs! Fingers crossed on the giveaway... lots to love!
ReplyDeleteEntry # 3 (gotta do my best to increase my odds). I pretty much won't leave the house without earrings (even if I'm looking pretty rough otherwise) but it's a tie on my favorite pairs of earrings. I can narrow it down to 2. one is a pair that I made right after I went to the Vintaj 2 day workshop and is a variation of a design they taught us. They are a little larger with an embossed, concave brass blank, a brass decorivit, and a jump ring. They are neutral so they go with all my Vintaj based designs. My other go-to pair is a pair made by a friend of mine, Jennifer Ionta of Spotted Mood Designs, and feature her textured sterling hoops and some lovely little lampwork beads she made. Again, they are fairly neutral so they go with a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteshouted it all over and blogged it too! :) jean, a member indeed
ReplyDeleteLove the new look! Yes, I've been a follower.
ReplyDeleteNew follower! My favorite earrings to wear are art nouveau earrings given to me by my mother when I was a teenager! I love vintage jewelry, especially the art nouveau era. Love the inspiration photo and will be joining in on the fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite go-to earrings are my hand made fine silver hoops. I don't have to think about what I'm wearing since they go with everything.
ReplyDeleteBut it would be great to wear a winning pair. Everyone's work is beautiful!
Love your blog and have been following for a while.
ReplyDeleteWould love to win any of the goodies.
Carolyn
Carolynscreations@live.com
What great prizes and what a great challenge. Would love to win. My favorite pair of earrings is just a simple pair of copper words that I can add some bead drops to when I want to dress them up. I like them because they're simple and easy to put on with anything.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to take part in this! I just started following, and have posted on FB.... My fave earrings are a simple pair of fused silver double link earrings I made...they go with everything and are lightweight and eyecatching...
ReplyDeleteI'm a new blog follower. I've followed some of your posts from other blogs and thought I had started following you, but guess I hadn't. But I do now.
ReplyDeleteJust tweeted about the challenge and giveaway.

I have been a long time follower, love getting a daily dose of earrings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea, and giveaway!
I will try to get a pair of earrings done in time to participate.
I love all the earrings here! My favorite earrings are copper circles with copper and silver dangles...I wear them with everything!
ReplyDeleteI've had many favourite pairs of earrings over the years, I've always loved to wear an interesting or eye-catching pair. My current favourite? Probably the snowflake earrings I just made featuring a ceramic snowflake charm by Bo Hulley and beads from Rebecca Anderson.
ReplyDeleteI have been a follower since the beginning (lately through Bloglovin) -- I just love all the gorgeous inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've FB'd the giveaway too!
ReplyDeleteStarted following. How have I missed this blog? Fantastic inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI just became a follower! All the earring designs are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of earrings that my daughter gave to me that are teardrop shaped turquoise in a fairly simple sterling bezel setting that I just LOVE!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite earrings, which I wear several times a week, are black Swarovski crosses below crystal rondelles, hanging from very long, contemporary marquis earwires.
ReplyDeleteI love this giveaway :-) I've been following the Earings everyday blog from the very beginnig and it's always such a visual treat to come check out the ingenious designs!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite pair of earrings is a simple pair of tiny white fresh water pearl studs. They work with every outfit from super dressy to everyday casual. The little bling also lights up my face and works far better than any illuminating foundation.
ReplyDeleteLove this challenge - will definitely give it a try - need to branch out from my comfort zone!
ReplyDeleteI am up for this challenge! A great way to get me working on different styles of earrings! Plus, I always love an "inspiration". I WANT to become a follower but the only option I see is google connect or google friends I'd rather have an email or connect through Networked Blogs. I think I have a google account but for the life of me, I can't remember the username or password Does wanting to become a follower count? And what about Networked Blogs as an option? Then we can get the posts right in our FB feed. Just sayin
ReplyDeleteOkay, I want to win in this giveaway. I posted on FB (https://www.facebook.com/lee.koopman) and tweeted on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pair of earrings is a sort of "noir" pair with gunmetal links and blood red drops. Vamp!
ReplyDeleteI have been a new follower for about a week or so. The damselfly photo is full of colors to choose from! Let's see what I have in my stash. ;)
ReplyDeleteI shared a link to this post on my Facebook.
ReplyDeleteFavorites? I can't choose, I love all my earrings - ones I have made, but my current favorites are the beautiful lampwork ones I won from Carol Dillman's giveaway. They are even prettier "in person"
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge - I look forward to linking up when I can.!
ReplyDeletewell I have been thinking and I cannot pick just one pair of favorite earrings. I make earrings and they are my passion. I like antique beads and buttons. my favorite ones would be ones I have made from antique metal buttons and sometimes a nice antique bead is a statement standing alone.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower! I shared a facebook and another social media site: plurk
ReplyDeleteMy favorite earrings were made by a very good friend of mine, Rosy from RoEnchantedDesigns, They are boho style with lots of dangling rings and ocher and green beads. LOVE them. I am a sucker for all earrings!
I am a follower on bloglovin. If i am going to read a blog it is there. Do you use it? It has an iphone app that os the best!
ReplyDeleteI shared on fb
ReplyDeleteMy fav earrings to wear are these huge copper hoop earring I made. I soldered the hoops, forged them, wrapped them in sterling silver, then connected them to hand forged sterling ear wires. Love them because they are light and go with everything.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful earrings and great inspiration! My favorite earrings I made myself. They are antiqued copper with sterling ear wires.. The 3 stones dangling are rainbow flourite briolettes. When light catches the stones, their different hues are accentuated. They seem to match my whole wardrobe. I am a new follower of Earrings Everyday. (yahoowahoo@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI have been a follower since Earrings Everyday started and love the inspiration. I am thrilled you are doing this challenge as I have not been to my work table since before Christmas. Thanks to the those who are providing these lovely prizes!
ReplyDeleteI should mention my favorite pair of earrings are gold hoops. They go with anything. That sounds bad for a person who makes jewelry but that's the way it is.
ReplyDeleteI've just started following this blog. My favourite earrings are a pair made by Claire Lockwood with paper clips and button pearls :)xx
ReplyDeleteJust seen this - bless you, Suhana! I did a whole wee post here on those earrings!:

ReplyDeleteI am now following this blog :)
ReplyDeleteI have lots and lots of earrings, but my favourites are made from little wood beads in a glorious fuchsia colour.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pair of earrings has a silver fan with little wood beads that clink against it. I just love the sound effects that only I can hear.
ReplyDeleteI am following your blog

ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/Shaiha_/status/432230497461477376
I'm now following this blog and can't wait for more inspirations!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I love to make and wear many different styles of earrings, my go-to pair are simple silver hoops. They work whether I am dressed up or down. I also always wear a second single diamond stud in only one ear and that never comes out!
ReplyDeleteIf I am working on new earrings it happens quite often that I fall in love with them... and just have some new favorites. So I have acquired a lot of favorites up until now ;) Also one pair I bought about a year ago from Lorelei Eurto, simple long turquoise glas beads and some ceramic cube beads, just fit me perfectly and I love the colours and shape.
ReplyDeleteI am also for some time now a follower and love to see all the beautiful earrings here! I love the idea to have an inspiration challenge :)
ReplyDeleteI've been a follower for a while and always love to see the earrings posted.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pairs of earrings (I have two) are: (1) a pair do copper hearts made by Keirsten Giles. They are simple and sweet and my go to for every day earrings and (2) Erin's "rock star" earrings that I snapped up a few years ago. They are wild and perfect when I need that "something special."
ReplyDeleteI am a faithful follower. I love hopping to the different blogs and storefronts of the Earrings Everyday artists to see what else they are working on.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the We're All Ears inspiration challenge and will definitely be participating.
Thanks for the continuing support to the online jewelry designing community.
I have pair of artisan sterling silver rounds with a Moroccan design on them. I love them and they are my 'go to" earrings without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteI wear a pair of embossed copper earrings I designed and made with just about everything. I don't usually wear my own work but this pair was rejected as being too small for a series of metal earrings I created for a gallery show. And I get the most compliments on them! Oh, why are we too critical of our own work?!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! It will be so much fun to participate in this monthly challenge. I'm an earrings addict :). Everybody in my jewelry class called me the earring lady :) My favorite pair of earrings: bezel set oval turquoise earrings. Thank you for the giveaway: love all the earrings!
ReplyDeleteI love some wild hoops I made--especially since I cut my hair! They draw attention to my face and away from the fact that I seem to have recently joined the Marines at age 62!
ReplyDeletejean
Hello, I am already a follower of Earrings Everyday :)
ReplyDeleteHere I will tell you about my favourite earrings. Well, my favourite earrings are made from purple frosted-glass beads with tiny, tiny vivid green seed-beads and silver bead caps. They are just the right length and look lovely with the light shining through them.
ReplyDeleteI shared on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteI have so many favorite earrings that it's hard to pick just one pair but the ones that I wear the most are cobalt blue glass droplets set in silver. They were made by a local artist.
ReplyDeleteCount me in! Already following for awhile and it's one of my favorite jewelry blogs!
ReplyDeleteLynda
My favorite pair of go-to earrings are long and delicate. Three tiny blue-gray freshwater pearls with one long silver chain dangling below. Love them!
ReplyDeleteLynda
Follower, stalker, predator, infatuated ...call it what you like
ReplyDeleteI became a follower... I am always interested to see all the talent out there... To share ideas ..
ReplyDeleteMy favorite earrings... My own of course...long funky with ancient looking findings and interesting bits hanging from them
Been a follower from the start...and use Feedly since Google's demise (for those having any trouble getting the blog in a feed). I'm enjoying the addition of new members to the team, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm not one for "go-to" earrings because I prefer variety, but I favor long rather than big. A favorite pair of mine was made by Keirsten with one of her stamped coin designs and lavender lampwork. I also have a turtle fetish, so I may have to keep a pair I made with some of Kristi Bowman's copper clay--curved turtle shell shields that I managed to get some dangles added to....
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'll have a different favorite tomorrow. Love seeing the variety here!
I'm a follower!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite earrings right now are actually ones I did not make - they are from my boyfriend and covered in diamonds! Christmas gift!
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite earrings to wear match a pendant that my VERY best friends husband gave to me that belonged to her before she died. They are gold "flip flops" with small diamonds. They are nothing I would purchase for my self but they belonged to Lisa and for that reason alone I absolutely love them.
ReplyDeleteBecame a follower. I don't normally make earrings. Mainly because I don't wear earrings very often as my ears aren't pierced (there are many options for non-pierced ears, something I've even blogged about, but I just never get into the habit of wearing earrings) and I don't make jewellery to sell. But it's always nice to see inspirational jewellery -- and I'm a sucker for challenges, even when I don't have the time, energy and/or inspiration to make something for them.
ReplyDeleteI am following the blog.
ReplyDeleteShared on my facebook page.
ReplyDeleteand entry # 3......my favorite pair of earrings, is the pair I just made. I'm a diva. Got to try out the new stuff. ( and just incase ... my contact info .... pyxeestyx at yahoo )
ReplyDeleteI've followed this blog for a while now although just made it official. LOVE earrings for myself and to make them for others. My favorite pair changes frequently but right now I'm loving a pair made with brass washers and some funky nugget beads. I've been very inspired to wrap my earwires with wire and small beads lately too. Love all this talent and inspiration but I'm not a blogger.
ReplyDeletemoondancejewelry@hotmail.com
I follow Earring Everyda in my feedreader. I hope that counts!!
ReplyDeleteI shared about the giveaway on my FB page! (https://www.facebook.com/CraftyHopeJewelry)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pair of earrings are my diamond studs. My grandmother gave them to me for my birthday years ago. They were hers. My sister and I were always supposed to each receive one of them (to have set in a ring or necklace) eventually. When my sister died, my grandmother began talking about giving the earrings to my nieces (my sister's daughters, still children) and I was greedily upset as I had already lost my sister and was going to lose this family heirloom as well. Instead, my grandmother surprised me with the earrings on my next birthday. They are one of my most cherished possessions and I do plan to pass them on to my nieces eventually. . .
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pair of earrings are reversible diamond hoops, white diamonds on one side, rose diamonds on the reverse. My husband gave them to me on our first Christmas together, he's so romantic!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower! Yay!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Marybeth and I'm an earring-a-holic! As of right now am a proud follwer of Earrings Everyday.
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite pair of earrings, by Chelsea girl designs on etsy, feature small, smooth painted river stones suspended from a parade of tiny glass lentils that pick up all the colors of the stones. Forgive me, but I just have to say: They rock!!
ReplyDeleteShared the Giveaway news on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower :-) And, my favorite pair of earrings area some tiny, simple little textured/riveted silver circles I created - they just go with everything, everyday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice blog I landed on to. I became a follower and will share it in FB under Alankarshilpa Jewelry on my wall and my most favorite earring or the one that I just grab when I am undecided, is a pair of gold ring. It is about an inch in diameter and was given to me by my mom when I was just thirteen. I am wearing them many decades after that- it is like my comfort jewelry, though I do change earrings a lot.
ReplyDeleteI have followed your blog since it started! My favorite earrings are the first hoops that I hammered myself. Thanks for this opportunity!
ReplyDeleteShelley
shelleykatsh@gmail.com
Love the blog, One of my first inspirations!
ReplyDeletePosted about this on Facebook!
And I think my favorite earrings are ones I made some time ago, with bendable bead caps, a Czech bead, and an opaque vintage glass bead, both in a turquoise color. Sadly one of the vintage beads recently broke. I think I have another pair.....
I am an Earrings Everyday follower!
ReplyDeleteI also shared with my friends on Facebook. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite earrings I didn't make are a pair of artisan made metal feathers that I got from my mom. She originally gave them to me to use as pendants because they weren't her style. I've never had the heart to split them up. My favorite pair of earrings I've made are repurposed brass hoops with a fossil coin shaped bead dangling in the center and rock chip beads wire wrapped around the bottom of the hoops.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea! Thanks for all the opportunities to win, too! I'm already a follower. My favorite pair of earrings to wear is a pair I made. (I made them to sell, but can't part with them.) The components are antique copper, which I love, and the dangle is composed of baby clothes sized, vintage MOP buttons below which is strung snippets of old lace. I've never seen anything like them, they weigh nothing, I love buttons, and the buttons and lace came from my Mom's estate.
ReplyDeleteJust blogged about the challenge and the give-a-way too, today. here's the link: http://misheldesigns.blogspot.com/2014/02/earrings-everyday-challenge-and-other.html
ReplyDeleteHopefully I'll have earrings finished for the challenge tomorrow, but if not - I will definitely be checking out all the cool ones people will have on the inlinkz line up! :-)
I have been following you for years, but now I just became a "registered follower." Love this blog!
ReplyDeleteShared on FB and through email to non-FB designers and friends with earlobes. :)
ReplyDeleteMy fav pair of earrings are ones I made with components I repurposed from a couple of pairs of my mom's clip on earrings. Every time I wear them, I can feel my mom's presence.
ReplyDeleteI am a longtime follower, this is such a fun idea, I like that it is a fast turnaround too. See everyone tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI've been following this blog for a while now! I absolutely love it, and the designs are both gorgeous and inspirational :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pair of earrings are ones I made myself, haha. They're series of three handforged copper loops/curves (they look a little like fish scales). Very lightweight and casual!
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of duster length earrings that are a fav. They are light weight and have a south west vibe. I just love them. I have long hair so they can be notices. If I wear stud earrings no one would see them and earrings are made to be seen. I've been a follower for some time now. off to do a post on my blog.
ReplyDeleteShared it on Facebook too!
