Wake Up Little Drusy

This is just going to be a short post because I only just got back from 6 weeks of traveling and the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.

I've managed to have gotten myself sick upon re-entry. I'll blame the gem show this time.

It even had a name "The Tucson Crud" because it was certainly going around many of the exhibition halls.

What we have here are some little drusy discs that I picked up at the gem show a few years ago. I haven't seen any offered since then in this nice wee size but I squirreled some away for myself.

These had a bit of yellow coloration which went well with the African powder glass spacers.

The silken mini squares are by Outwest. I don't buy a lot of lampwork being a lampworker myself  but she does such a good job with this shape I had to pick myself up a few. Somehow they make they yellow which I have hardest time working with all come together nicely.

Turquoise Earrings - Or Why I Need To Go To France Soon

Since I started writing for Earrings Everyday, I've added a lot more pins to my Fashion Finds board on Pinterest, because I've always enjoyed the posts here that paired earrings with outfits.  It turns out that I've really had fun adding to this board (I'm more than a little bit addicted to Pinterest anyway).  I seem to be on a turquoise kick lately and I just fell in love with this outfit.

If you look closely, you'll see that it is actually a 2 piece outfit.  It includes a cute little vest with it.  The sleeves are semi-transparent and the whole thing looks all twirly and soft.

Here's what I'd wear with it.  That is, I'd wear these earrings with this outfit if I lived in France, because that's where this dress is sold.  I know...le sigh.

These earrings were inspired by some of Cindy Wimmer's creations in her new book

The Missing Link.

As soon as I saw this link that she uses to make a chain I knew I wanted to alter it just a tiny bit so that I could dangle beads from them.

Cocoons

In case you all didn't know it yet, I've been playing with Polymer Clay recently.
These Cocoons are one of the first things I made and I think they turned out really cool!!

I paired them up with Glass Discs from Outwest, absolutely perfect color match!!

These are nice and long with lots of wonderful movement but light as a feather!

So unusual and that splash of Turquoise blue with the neutrals just sets off.

And those Outwest Discs...Perfection!!

I am bordering on obsessing about Cocoons now,

 in my search I have found so many amazing Cocoons that I had to start a Cacoon board on Pinterest

 I can hardly wait to try to duplicate.

Fire and Rain

This week I created 2 pair of earrings using the same Rustic Drop beads by Outwest.

They were so cool on their own
I wanted to create very simple designs that let the wonderful beads shine through.

I did really crazy messy wire wrapping on these beautiful red rustic drops.





RAIN



And super simple chain strung through these lovely blue beads.
