Hello
friends, I hope you all have enjoyed a wonderful weekend. Here in Greece if was
warm enough to officially “open” the swimming season… we hiked in the mountains
and ended the day with swimming in the sea. Wonderful.
As you might
know I have set myself a challenge this year for Earrings Everyday: making
earrings with long hoarded beads. The beads have been hoarded for various
reasons: I could not part with them, I just had to have them without any idea
what to do with them, or I bought them with an idea in mind which I had
forgotten about once I received them, some I completely forgot about (yes, that
happens) etc.
Today I set
myself an even more difficult challenge: make three sets of earrings with the
same beads.
I picked
these wonderful handmade polymer clay beads in various shades of grey. I bought
these in 2011 from a shop on Etsy called Peak View Creations. Sadly, this shop
doesn’t seem to exist anymore. I then picked bright yellow handmade lampwork
glass beads made by Amy. I am an official hoarder of the amazing muse packs
from a great friend Claire Braunbarth from SmittenBeads, so I picked a pack and
use some of the beads in them.
Thank you so much for looking and I hope to see you in a couple of weeks.
Here on Earrings Everyday we appreciate and love to read your comments. So don't be shy and let us know your thoughts. Wishing you a wonderful day, full of joy, flowers and sunshine.

Love all of these! I'm s sucker for anything grey then add some yellow and you have me! Thanks so much for the mention :) xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire. Much appreciated. You know I am a sucker for your muse packs.
DeleteI adore how you used so many of the same beads for these, but came up with three strikingly different pairs of earrings. My favorite of the bunch are the ones with the dangling, exposed eye pins. Such a cool design!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your lovely comment :) Much appreciated.
DeleteJanine, these are all so beautiful! You've made them each totally different, even though it's clear they're all part of one theme. So well done! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Meridy :) I am so happy my mojo is coming back, albeit a bit slow. Perhaps my next challenge will be using hoarded beads in asymmetrical earrings.
DeleteJanine, I have a real passion for pale grays and soft whites. The polymer beads are lovely, and the yellow is a perfect accompaniment that I would not have reached for. I will now though. Thank you for that inspiration. I think IF I had to choose just one, it would probably be the pair with dangles just because of the dangles. :) But then, the petite pair are great for that reason, too, they're petite and soft and pretty. And then the third pair are dramatic. So it would depend on the mood. :) Thank you for sharing your stash with us. I look forward to what's coming next.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much for your wonderful comment Norbel. I have heard that yellow lifts up someone's mood, by looking at it, by wearing it and/or by eating it (banana's, corn etc). So I thought we could all use a bit of yellow :)
DeleteGrey and yellow! Love them all Janine, but if forced at gunpoint to choose it would be those on the left. x
ReplyDeleteThank you Lindsay for your lovely comment. I might have a wee bit of preference for the left one as well. If forced at gunpoint of course ;-)
DeleteI love them all buT again the ones with the dangles would be my choice. I just love dangles and the shot of yellow is fab. ๐
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Elaine for you taking time to leave a comment. And what a lovely one!!
DeleteThat is a great color scheme. I think anything with grey really pops! I love the way you used the same scheme to make different earrings for a series. Enjoy the day! Erin
