Incredibly beautiful Lampwork Headpins by Janell Nelson with Copper "Snakeskin" Bails.
Lampwork headpins are one of my favorite things to use and I'm always looking for ways to use Snakeskin in my copper work.

Super cool and unusual!

Leafy Stacks

These Copper Leaf Components are a little different than the leaves I usually make. Instead of a hole in the top I brought the sides around to create a little bit of a tunnel.

Then I went through all of my beads that had holes big enough to fit through and created these earrings.  I used cool Lampwork Rings made by Paradise Beads on the earrings above, also adding Freshwater Pearl buttons and touches of mixed metal by using tiny silver beads in 2 ways.
The above earrings are available HERE.

These leaves were actually the first pair I made, they are a bit larger and although I like them I'm not completely happy and I have an idea in my head to change them. So they will probably be taken apart and re-worked.

The smaller Leafy Components will be available during my next online show starting Saturday Feb 4th along with lots of other new painted components.

As always thanks so much for joining us here on Earrings Everyday!!!

Winter Solstice

I found a beautiful leaf during on of my recent walks and realized it's been some time since I've used natural leaf textures in my components so I decided it was time to make more. This is the first pair I made and I decided I need to throw some paint on them and see how it looks.

As soon as I put the first 2 colors on them, I immediately thought of these beautiful Lampwork Beads I had in my stash and they turned out to be a perfect match. I've added some faceted Labradorite rondelles and Druzy like beads on top and wrapped lots of messy Copper Wire around wherever I could.

Even though there is lots of color in these they have a very wintry quality so I had to give them a wintry name.

Snakeskin Drops

Anybody who knows me at all probably knows one of my favorite textures is something I call Snakeskin! I've made these Snakeskin Wrap Beads before but it's been a long time so I decided I need to make more. I do love them so so so much, I'm really happy I decided to make them again.

Those who know me also know my crazed addiction to Headpins. So of course I had to put some Amazing Headpins in to these Amazing Snakeskin Wrap Beads (at least I think they are pretty amazing) added a little Sari Silk which I love to do and they made some absolutely gorgeous earrings. I hope you agree!

I've sold out of the few beads I made but I'm making more as we speak!
These earrings have already sold as well but I'll also make more earrings.

Twisted

Last week I had this really fabulous idea for a pair of earrings, I sketched it out and thought about it alot for a couple of days. When I sat down on Saturday to create these cool earrings I had in my mind, they just did not happen. I worked on them for a long time and could NOT make them work.
 So frustrating!!

So after I walked away from my table for awhile I came back and decided that for now, at least, I was going to scrap that idea and go with something completely new.
So I dug around my incredibly messy table and found these Copper Spirals hanging in the pile...
a good place to start!!

Then I dug around my bead stash looking for something with a good size hole so I could insert part of the point in to the beads. YES!!!! These gorgeous beads by MaryAnn Carroll are perfectction!  I love the gorgeous brick red color and they look fantastic with these flower pieces.

I topped them off with these cool twisted wire beads I recently found at Michaels and they worked perfectly!!!

Thank goodness my creative block didn't last long!!

I have a couple of these shapes for sale in my store.

First Frost

I know we're just getting in to Spring but these Frosty Silvered Stone Lampwork Beads by
Judith Billig and some of my Copper Leaves definitely need to be called "First Frost".

I topped them with a little bit of coiled wire and some Copper Bead Caps with a beautiful Scroll design and Hypo Allergenic Niobium Earwires.

I took this frosty photo a few years ago for a Macro Challenge, thought it was a perfect time to share it again.

These earrings are available HERE in my webstore.

Gone Dotty

Start with absolutely Stunning Lampwork Beads by Meital Plotnik and you can hardly go wrong.
I thought my Dotty Copper Discs worked well with the bumpy beads.
As I often do I put a touch of Sari Silk between the 2 components and wrap it all up with copper.

These Earrings are available for sale HERE on my website.

Jellyfish

Maybe not the prettiest name for a pair of earrings
but that is what they look like so that's what I'm calling them.
 Pretty Jellyfish of course!

The copper pieces have Sea Urchin or Snakeskin Texture.

Jellyfish

Originally I had pretty little faceted orange agates in mind but I decided to go with these very rustic Jasper beads and I love how it looks with the copper. In the center are some Copper Ammonite Cocoons I made some time ago. Nobody bought them so I decided to use them and they work great with this look.

These earrings are available HERE in my webstore.

Metallic Drops

I've had these tribal texture 3 hole components sitting on my work bench for months waiting for something to inspire me. These Metallic Czech beads finally did the trick.
I kept the colors pretty random because they all look so good together.

Smoke on the Water

As I was putting these together trying to think of what to name them, which is not a strong suit of mine, I suddenly started singing Smoke on the Water in my head.
These beads definitely look like Smoke on the Water.

I paired them with some of my Copper Wagon Wheels and a little Czech Glass bead at the top.

Forest Dew Drops

Sparkling nymphs play at dawn
With the fae laddies they find fair
To dance many a dance in airs
Above the ground or on lea's green lawns
Betwixt forests mystery where bluebells pair.

Beneath canopy even falls violet
Upon branch and nest lay its breast

Awaiting morns sweet suffuse wet
Cooling the heat of noon's bright protest
In honor of Summers sonata in ultraviolet.

Mayan Headdress

I've been playing with scratch foam again lately and these copper components are some of my favorites.
I like the shape and I put a holes where they are so beady goodies could be dangled from the center
and I love way they look.

I didn't realize until after I created these earrings how much they look like a Mayan Headdress.
I think I'll be playing with this idea much more.
Beautifully Tribal!
