Whirlwind

Hello hello.
Today I am showing you earrings I made last week. You should have seen me, my little bags of tiny colorful beads spread all over the bed, me frantically looking for The Perfect Bead combinations. My  sari silk ribbons haphazardly thrown all over the couch (hubby barely had space left to sit). Yes, making these earrings were kind of a whirlwind process.
For these earrings I wire wrapped the sari silk with a combination of Czech glass, crystals and delica's in a whirlwindy fashion. Hence the name :)

And you know I love to read your comments, so don't be shy and leave some words.
See you in two weeks.

Wishing you all a wonderful day, full of joy, laughter and whirlwinds of positive energy,

Sweet and short

Greetings from Greece.
Today's post is going to be short and sweet, as are my earrings I like to share with you today.

These earrings are relatively short (9 cm) and very lightweight.
The ingredients:

- handmade etched glass headpins in a darker pink (Earthshinebeads)
- ceramic bead caps in pastel pink
- rhinestone spacers
- Czech glass in a darker pink with a hint of gold
- Tiny lighter pink seedbeads with a hint of gold
- Copper earwire

This lovely pair is available in my shop.

Thank you so much for looking and your support for Earrings Everyday this year.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas/happy holidays and I hope they are filled with lots of fun, joy, laughter and chocolate cake. See you in a couple of weeks.

Wishing you a wonderful day,
Janine

And yet another make-over :)

Currently I am not only going through my somewhat enormous stash of beads and "force" myself to use some long-hoarded ones. I am also going through my inventory and select pieces which haven't found a new home for quite some time. Which I take apart and try to make something from the beads.

Yesterday I decided to take this pair apart and create something new with the beads. I made this pair in 2015.
To challenge myself even more I allowed myself to only grab two boxes of my bead stash to see what I could use.
They were made with glass headpins from Earthshinebeads, lampwork disc beads from Debbie Sanders, some Czech glass and vintage lucite
.

And I found some wonderful beads in the two boxes to create my first pair with the glass headpins and Czech donut. I used some lampwork glass, Swarovski crystal rondelles and Czech glass.
I love Malin's stacked earrings. She definitely is the stack earring queen to my opinion. This pair is an attempt to make a pair of my own.

For the second pair I combined the glass disc and vintage lucite with sari silk, Czech glass and silverplated bead caps.
These are longer ones as the previous pair, but lightweight and comfortable to wear.

What do you think? I believe the new pairs have much more character than the original one.
These will be available in my shop in a short while.
Wishing you a wonderful day,

Janine

A new beginning

Hello lovely earring lovers,

Is it too late to wish you all a happy New Year? I don’t know what the protocol is, or if there is a protocol at all. How long can you wish each other happy New Year after New Years Eve? I am clueless. Ah well, it doesn’t matter, I just gonna do it:
I wish you all a wonderful, happy and healthy New Year, full of joy, laughter, cake, butterflies, sunshine, coffee/tea and earrings.

As you might know the last 2 years were not the happiest years of my life. But a new year gives new opportunities, new insights, new chances. Did you make New Years resolutions? I made several but one of mine as always is losing weight. Somehow I never succeed. Another plan is to re-launch Esfera. Yep, slowly new ideas are forming in my head.

My first earrings of this year are a pair made with beautiful lampwork head pins from Linda Newnham  (Earthshine beads). I so love the colors in these; matte beige with a shiny silvery/coppery accent. To be honest, this pair was made in august already. It was just waiting there, forgotten to list in my shop. Another New Years resolution: list jewellery shortly after it has been made.
Well, that's it for today. Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to see you again in a couple of weeks. And you know I really love to read your comments, so don’t be shy, just write a few lines. I always respond.

Wishing you a wonderful day,
Janine

Happy Monday

Hello. This weekend went a wee bit different than planned. I planned to show you new earrings with beautiful headpins made by Linda Newnham from Earth Shine Beads. Instead I am showing you a pair I made a while back. Still with gorgeous head pins from Linda!
I combined these with handmade spacer beads made by Amy from Lampwork by Amy in sky blue and oxblood red, copper bead caps and ear wires, brass beads and links and pinkish red seed beads.

Thank you so much for looking. These are available in my shop. Wishing you a wonderful Monday full of joy, happiness, laughter and hot chocolate.

Inspiration

According to the dictionary inspiration is:

1.
the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.
synonyms: creativity, inventiveness, innovation, innovativeness, ingenuity, imagination, imaginativeness, originality, individuality; artistry, expressiveness, creative power, creative talent, creative skill, genius, insight, vision, wit, finesse, flair, brilliance, sophistication

the quality of being inspired.
synonyms: stimulus, stimulation, motivation, motivating force, fillip, encouragement, influence, muse, goad, spur, lift, boost, incentive, incitement, impulse, catalyst

divine influence, especially that supposed to have led to the writing of the Bible.

2.
a sudden brilliant or timely idea.
synonyms: bright idea, brilliant idea, timely thought, revelation

When my muse wants to “cooperate” and I am in the flow I get my inspiration mostly from the colors of the beads. Especially from art beads. One can feel the love an artist puts in these tiny wonders of art. By looking at a beautiful art bead, designs often create themselves.

When I am having my “beads play-day” and my muse is deciding to take a prolonged coffee break, I’m having a harder time finding inspiration. My go-to stop for instant inspiration is the website of Design seeds. The pictures are mouth watering gorgeous and the color palettes are inspirational.

If my muse is on holiday I find inspiration in design bead kids, like the muse packs from Smittenbeads, browsing the fresh picks from Lima beads, flicking through beading magazines or by picking up a bead embroidery project.

When that doesn’t work…Well I’m just calling it a day and go for a long walk in the mountains.

Glass headpins: Earthshinebeads
Copper earwires: Faerystones

These are available in my shop.

Can you tell what inspired me creating these earrings?
And of course I like to know what inspires you in your creativity?

Thank you for visiting. Wishing you a wonderful time, full of joy, happiness, laughter and lots of inspiration. See you in a couple of weeks.
