Celebrate In Style

As I was writing the title of today's post, it reminded me that the first dance my husband-to-be and I attended in high school was titled Celebrate. But I digress...
Today's earrings are meant for celebrating! With their shoulder duster length and the glimmer of gold colored hoops, these earrings will put the wearer in a festive mood!
My friend, Sue Kennedy, of SueBeads, is a multi-talented artist. She made both the beaded beads at the top of the earrings, as well as the handmade lampwork glass beads at the bottom. I didn't purchase these two components at the same time, but they go together perfectly! Paired with the hammered gold TerraCast ovals and the gold plated wires that tapper to a rounded point at the bottom, the earrings take on an elegant look, with flowing lines.
I was thinking of holiday parties when I made these, but since there is nothing "Christmassy" about them, they will look great year 'round on any dressy occasion. The Celebration Earrings are available in my shop now. Take a look!
Since this is my last post before Thanksgiving, I want to wish our US friends of Earrings Everyday a Happy Thanksgiving, filled with laughter, love and deliciousness!

Holiday Ferris Wheel Earrings

I've had fun making, what I call, my Ferris Wheel ceramic components, in a variety of color combinations.  So I thought, "Why not see how they look in holiday colors?".
So I made one pair with a green background and one pair with a red background.  The green background pair sold at Bead Fest and the other pair became the earrings you see here.
Gold always feels festive during the holidays, so I paired the ceramic dangles with gold plated beads and some satin finish, red "o-beads".
I will have these for sale at a show I'm doing this weekend, but if they don't sell, I'll be adding them to my shop. Do you like to wear holiday themed jewelry or not so much.  Let me know in the comments.

Merry Christmas

This year I have been unusually late with the setting up of christmas decorations. I normally start a lot earlier. I love the christmas athmosphere. But only yesterday I got my tree up. Later today my kids and I will start to decorate it. And to set up all the other decorations in our house.  So the spirit has finally entered our house. :-)

As I write this blog post I am listening to my own Spotify list of all the best christmas music ever. And I am so happy with my christmassy earrings that I made, and I will wear them all the coming days.

Art beads:
Matte blue ceramic bells  - NadiaTerra
Red patinated chain - MissFickleMedia

Other components:
Handmade earring hooks in oxidized brass
Messy wrapped oxidized copper wire
Black seed beads (inside the bells)

BTW, here in Sweden the big day is on the 24th instead of on the 25th.

Wishing everyone a
Very Merry Christmas,
Malin

Seasons Greetings ♪♫♪♫♪♫

Oh the Holidays... A time for family and friends, reflecting the year's past and planning new goals for the future.  It's one of the few times of the year that I make festive pieces for the occasion.  Generally I'm behind as time gets away from me and before you know it the season is upon us, however I was able to get a few pieces done in time to sell for those who like to show off their holiday spirit.

My first pair is a collaboration of artisan made lamp work with ole St. Nick ceramic discs.  In between them I wire wrapped cream glass seed beads that remind me of a string of lights.

My next pair shows off some enamels of traditional red and white mittens with striped glass discs atop finished off with green twine for the special holiday look.

Saving my favorites for last!  Ceramic rain-deer discs topped off with aged grey leather wrapping.  I wish I had a million of these!!!

♪♫♪♫♪♫ Wishing you a beautiful holiday season filled with love and joy ♪♫♪♫♪♫

Mele Kalikimaka

I have to admit, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation has become somewhat of a tradition for me and my hubby to watch every holiday season.  I mean come on! its a classic, right?  It doesn't matter how many times I've seen it, I laugh hysterically every time.
squirrel ?
I made these earrings this past weekend not really expecting this design, but turns out, I really love them. They were popping with color that did in fact bring out some holiday cheer, ☺
I posted them on my Facebook page and received a wonderful comment to how they resemble a Hawaiian Christmas, so there ya go...they are now titled my Mele Kalikimaka earrings, ☺

So dream big friends!!
Say so long to 2015 and we'll be ROCKIN in the New Year!!!

♪♫♪♪♫ Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say,
on a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day,
That's the island greeting that we send to you,
From the land where palm trees sway,
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night,
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way

Angelfire

In your house, is it the angel or the star on the top of the tree?

When we got married and started collecting our first ornaments for the first Christmas tree in 1992, I found and angel holding a star. And she lights up, too!

Last night I was playing around with some jewelry epoxy clay for another project that is coming on my own blog tomorrow, and I had some left over. So I quickly grabbed the closest bezel I could find and whipped up these light as air earrings. Looking up at the sweet face of the angel with her deep indigo and soft cream-colored robes holding up the lighted star on the top of the tree, I was inspired to name these Angelfire.

They are very blingy! So of course, I had to put together an outfit to match.

Today I am wearing..

Sequined Layered Tank from Lane Bryant
Grey and black striped jersey pencil skirt from Old Navy
Paired with a grey jersey swing cardigan, grey tights and these sparkly shoes...
Glittery Textured Ballet Flats from Old Navy
I think that this might be my new Christmas outfit that brings both the angel and the star together!

Bling

I'm in the midst of planning our holiday party and I have Christmas on the brain! These earrings were inspired by the beads, that I found at Michael's craft store! They have the most amazing coloring and AB coating that I've ever seen, along with this very unique etched matte flower design on them! I created these to go along with a bracelet using the same beads.  Definitely planning to make set for me to wear to my own party! Can't wait!

These are for sale in my Indiemade shop!

Holly and Berry Earrings

When it comes to the holidays my decorating and dressing up take it's cues from the beauty of nature during the winter months.  I'm drawn to evergreens, pine cones, holly, snowflakes and frosty ice as seasonal motifs.  These earrings reflect that holiday mood without being too Christmas-y, which appeals to me as I'd probably wear them throughout the wear.  The berries have some plum undertones making them read less traditional.

The leaves and berries were sculpted from polymer clay and paired with brass in warm golden hues.  You can find them in my Etsy shop.

And speaking of what I'd wear for the holidays, I'd like to love to wear this outfit for the candle-light service on Christmas Eve.  I don't know if I could get away with the printed pants, but they sure have caught me eye.
Merry & Bright
