Basic Black Earrings Beach Stone Jewelry

What is the main color that fills your closet? Mine has a lot of black. I don't want to be that "emo" girl who always wears black but I am drawn to it. (no offense emo girls!) I love wearing black and it's easy to fit any other color with it, so it's a good go-to accessory & clothing color.
These earrings are another take on my beach glass/stone earrings. The only two stones I found that were so beautifully smooth and really *black. All the other stones I collected on this day were some sort of gray. I really love the look and feel of these smooth stones.

They pair well with the silver and add a nice contrast to the metal, even in it's rustic patina'd state.
My original idea was to have the asymmetrical rings hanging side by side. But I was inspired by some of the many asymmetrical earrings I've seen here on the EE blog and I mixed it up a bit. I'm really pleased with how they came out.

Part of my "Peace, Love & Rocks" Collection

Found black stones, handmade fine silver rings,
and black stone beads from Alexanders Bead Bazaar (Seattle, WA).

What's your go-to color?

  1. Ohh I love everything about these earrings Cindy. The asymmetrical of these. I love asymmetrical, I just cannot do it. You do it so well in these. Beautiful black beach stones/glass. Amazing that you can find these on the beach. And your wire wrap...perfectly imperfect.

  2. I love the feel of these earrings! and that beach feels like home to me ... I grew up along the Oregon coast (Astoria), but that looks further north to me?

    1. Yes, much more north! Kalaloch beach area. Very beautiful old growth forest there and great camping spots! One of my favorite places to get away that's not too far from home. :-)

  3. Love the asymmetry! That is hard to do well, and you pulled it off so effortlessly! These are 'wear-with-everything' cool! Enjoy the day. Erin

  4. I agree with Erin. Asymmetry is not to be taken lightly. :) One can make anything asymmetrical but it won't necessarily work; you worked it, and they are great. This is a pair every woman should have. Perfect go-to pair. I love them!

  5. I love these earrings, like other have said - everything about them! I am a bright colors sort of gal (I'm wearing bright pink right now) but there is something so appealing about black and silver. The textures here too are wonderful.
