Booth Display Ideas

If you sell jewelry at markets I really encourage you to make one of your New Year's resolutions to create an amazing booth display.  I just did a show where the booth designs were judged in a contest and seeing everyone step it up for their displays was inspiring and made this artist's market even more fun to shop.

Above is a simple earring display of wire and antiqued clothespins in a crate that is part of a complex and cohesive salvaged wood display from Urban Heirloom.  You can see the entire display on the Hello Friend blog

Think about your display not only in terms of clever display ideas, but pick displays that reflect the style of your jewelry.  The artist above has a vintage inspired spin to her work, so her salvaged display reflects that she rescued vintage treasures in her jewelry.

A designer who creates modern jewelry could choose simple picture frames, ceramic bowls and plates in white or slate.  Steel or copper displays would be a great backdrop for metal jewelry.

If your work is based on nature, use leaf plates and twiggy bird nests, woven baskets and ornate gilded and antiqued leaf frames.  Or find some twigs from outdoors to use as part of your display.

Keep your colors neutral, play up different textures. Remember to vary the height of your display items for visual interest.  Make or purchase a great banner for the back of your display to tie your booth together.

Scour the Internet for unique display ideas to spark your imagination and start coming up with a game plan for 2012.

  1. Nicely done, Heather! The display is always an on-going project, but it can enhance your whole image. Thanks for the motivation and sources, too!

  2. I really love this idea, I just wish there was a way to display this nicely with about 150 sets of earrings! lol I like my own display, but I need to revamp it so it is easier to really see the earrings.
