Hugs & Kisses!

Hi there! Melissa here, filling in for Keirsten today.  When she asked me to post today, I was a bit worried I wouldn't have anything, but after I got home from work yesterday, I took a look at what was already in my work area and found some sweet red lampwork from Sue Kennedy.  Hmmm, Valentine's Day is just a couple days away and these would be perfect!

Sue trailed fine silver over the beads, "hugging" them with brilliance.  I chose some of my new little metal clay morsels...white copper hearts to dangle beneath.  I was going to let it go at that, but decided they needed a bit more "oomph", so went back through my stash and found these white pearl sticks.  After seeing the little x's the wire-wrapping left, I thought of how we sometimes use x's and o's to symbolize hugs and kisses.

Too late to purchase in time for Saturday, but they will be up in my shop a bit later.  I also have a few more tiny heart charms there as well ;)

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Valentine's Day! XOXOXO!

Leopard Love

The inspiration for these earrings came from the Leopardskin Jasper Barrels I purchased at the Whole Bead Show a couple of weeks ago. As soon as I saw them I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to do with them and fortunately I had the perfect discs in White Copper already made.

I love adding little tiny touches of Sari Silk and I really think they add something special to these earrings!

I love scarves and this Leopard Scarf is purrrrrfect for these earrings.

Here they are along with some other beads I purchased.
These earrings are available for purchase HERE in my Etsy Shop.

Mixed Metal Swirls

Recently I experimented with combining
White Copper and regular Copper Metal Clay and here are the results.
 I love the look!

Some say they look like Petrified Wood or Sliced Agate!

Petrified Wood                                                                             Sliced Agate

I tried using complimenting beads on the wire wrapping
but in the end they looked best wrapped simply with no embellishment.

Whether they resemble anything else or not I think they are very beautiful and interesting. I love how the where the 2 metals alloyed to created a third color where they connected. Exaclyl what I was hoping for.
If you'd like to see how I made them check out my post on Art Jewelry Elements HERE.

All Mixed Up

Some of you may know I like to mix metals, I primarily work with Copper but with this new White Copper that's recently appeared on the scene I thought it was a perfect and inexpensive way to mix metals. Technically they are both copper but it's the look of mixed metals I'm going for and
 I also mixed the textures.

I love White Copper, I only found out about it a week or so ago and I snatched up a couple packages right away and created with it as soon as I received it.

If you want to see more White Copper go HERE!
I will be listing more later today and the Earrings are available for sale
HERE!

Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to know what you think!
