Exquisite Ellipse Earrings

These beautiful brass, ellipse shaped earring components were really inspiring to work with. They have such a soft, pretty turquoise patina and a silky smooth to the touch finish.

I used pink Venetian glass cube beads, that are lined with Sterling silver foil, to top off the earrings. Gold spacer beads bring out the gold tone in the brass and turquoise ceramic floral bead caps finish the look.

The Exquisite Ellipse earrings are now available in my shop, Linda Landig Jewelry. I'll see you in two weeks. Stay well and take care.

Purple Polka Dot Earrings

I have had these beautiful German glass beads for something like 25 years! I remember the town where I bought them, and that's how long its been since I was there. Why haven't I used them before? They've waited so patiently in the shadows, but at last their time has come to shine!
In addition to the German glass beads, I've included Czech glass and a delightful metallic flash from small, square hematite beads. Swaying beneath the German glass beads are purple glass flowers, threaded on Sterling silver "paddle head pins". The sweet little flowers are accented with more square hematite beads and small lavender glass beads. These beads may have been ignored for 25 years, but I think the earrings were worth the wait. The Purple Polka Dot earrings are available in my shop.
Summer has officially arrived, at least in the northern hemisphere.  I hope it is pleasantly warm and sunny where you live. See you in two weeks.

Girl and her wolves

Hi, I have 2 pairs to share with you today featuring enamels from Annet Riabukhina.  I kept them quite simple as the enamels are pretty awesome on their own.  I hope I've added enough without taking away from the focals.

In this pair I attached the enamels to antiqued brass connectors layering it with flowers and caps.  I hung brass sticks and chain on either side.  I completed the look by adding big hole glass beads and flowers above the connectors and pink niobium ear wire (to echo the subtle pink on the edges of the enamels)

Again keeping things simple here.  I layered the enamels with both raw and antiqued brass caps,  I usually paint the flower blanks that the enamels are attached to,  This time I kept them bare as they accent the gold from the enamels rather nicely

These will be available in my next show in The Jewellery Show Facebook group.  Hope you can stop by on Monday.

See you again soon.

Gala

What jewelry would you wear if you were invited to the Oscars?

The dream would perhaps be if you could borrow some really exclusive jewelry. Like the movie stars do. Something dramatic, bold and utterly glamorous. With diamonds and saffires.

Or would you wear something of your own make? Or made by a friend? You could of course still choose something bold and glamorous, but also fun, quirky and exciting. Something unexpected and unusual so that it would no doubt catch everyones eyes.

Like these ones for instance. They move wonderfully when you move your head. Super light weight and so very easy to wear. Because you would of course like to party like crazy all night without having to be worried about anything else.

Ingredients:
Orange large acrylic facetted bicones
Bright red silky covered polyester chains
Oxidized copper wire and large jump rings
Oxidized Sterling Silver handmade earring hooks

All my best,
Malin

Rainforest Earrings

Drama!  That's what these earrings have.  Not for the faint of heart!
I recently bought these stunning polymer clay earring spikes from Barbara McGuire.  They were lots bigger than I had imagined them to be.
I didn't want to add any more length to them, but I didn't want to just stick them on ear wires and call them done either. I decided to add a dangle down part of the length of the spikes.  The spikes are drilled horizontally, which made adding dangles a little more challenging.
It took me a few experiments to figure out a successful method.  I cut a length of brass wire and centered a green seed bead, a short length of fine chain and another seed bead on the wire.  I laid these across the front of the spike, threaded both ends of the wire through the hole in opposite directions and pulled it snug.  At the end of the chain, I attached a brass flower charm and another seed bead.
I wrapped the wire above the spikes, added another green seed bead and used the remaining wire to form the ear wires.  The earrings are over 3 inches long, but they are very lightweight, because polymer clay weighs almost nothing.  These are really fun and would look stunning on someone with a long neck.

Going to the Art Gallery

I was looking for a statement quality in these earrings. Large and bold, not to be missed when being worn. Kind of the opposite of discrete. They are long, with a cluster of beads and components in different materials. Still surprisingly lightweight (due to the materials used). I personally would wear them when going to an opening night at an art exhibition :-).

Art beads:
Orange-red flower patterned porcelain charms - RoundRabbit
Leaf shaped hammered and soldered copper dangles - MissFickleMedia

Other ingredients:
African brass beads with swirl pattern
Yellow facetted cat eye beads
Green seed beads
Green vinyl beads
Dark transparent blue with golden coating long facetted drops
Oxidized brass findings
Handmade brass earring hooks

All my best,
