Beaded embellishments

Hello Earring Folk!

A brief one from me this time. Look at these gorgeous ceramic connectors by Petra Carpreau. They have a beautiful soft bronze glaze. Petra's connectors are always fabulous -so versatile. I'm often tempted to just pop them on a pair of earwires and leave them be! However, I thought I'd play with these a little.

In both pairs of earrings, I've used silver and bronze seeds beads wrapped on wire. I love the simplicity of these pebble connectors -they're very tactile. I've added oxidised brass hoops to frame the seed beads and replicate the shape of the pebbles.
This next pair feature Petra's connectors and her super popular ceramic drops. They both have the same bronze glaze, and I added the seed beads to add a little boho flair to them. These are party earrings I think!

So that's me done for this month. I'll be back at the beginning of December

Head In The Clouds

Greetings! Thanks for stopping by!
I've had these on my worktable for a while now.  I originally was going to messy wrap the charms to the clouds with AB crystals but it came across too stiff.  I wanted a little movement --a little shimmy, so I decided to add these tiny little silver charms and I'm super happy now!

Hand formed ceramic droppers by Petra Carpreau of ScorchedEarth with Rene Magritte images.

The tiniest and sweetest little pale blue ceramic clouds by Gaea Cannaday of Gaea Handmade.  Honestly, could those clouds be any more perfect?!!!

I'll be back in a couple of weeks!  Hard to believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

Until then! 💙

The sun, the moon and one star

Hello Earring Folk

I've a pair of earrings for you which were inspired by my holiday in Spain this summer. We spent a few days in Barcelona, which was wonderful. Vibrant, colourful and diverse - it was fabulous! We spent a day at the Fundacio Joan Miro (the Joan Miro Foundation -packed full of paintings, sculptures and even textiles created by the Spanish artist). One of my favourite pieces is this one - the sun, the moon and one star created in the late 60s as a public monument for the city of Barcelona. The view over the city acts as a perfect backdrop to this beautiful piece
And now to earrings! Well, clever old Petra Carpreau of Scorched Earth created these beautiful ceramic components with Miro in mind. I decided to keep the design simple and bold -with dark oxidised hoops and chrysocolla rondelles
Isn't Petra clever? Love these. I toyed with using amber or citrine, but I really liked the fresh, deep green of the chrysocolla. Hard to see from the photo above, but the sculpture is set in water, so green seemed apt!

That's me done. See you in a couple of weeks.

Bells

Hi lovely earrings lovers,
Today (well, this week, ok, maybe the past few months...) I have been engrossed in my daytime numbers work. Since last year I am the proud co-owner of a small accounting and coaching firm, me being responsible for the finance & accounting part of our clients. That means not much time for creating anymore. So, I almost forgot about my blogpost today. Suddenly I realized... wait, isn't it Thursday today? Ehh, the first Thursday of the month? Oh my goodness...blog post.., new earrings.., pictures... Luckily, I made these earrings a while back for my show next week.

Bell shaped ceramic beads by Nadia, ceramic drops by the one and only Petra Carpreau, ear wires from Lucy Haslam and some other bits and pieces.

I hope you like them. These will be available in my show next week on facebook.

Thank you so much for looking and your support for Earrings Everyday :)
And you know I love to read your comments, so don't be shy and leave some words. And do check out the other posts of my friends.

See you in two weeks.
Wishing you all a wonderful day, full of love, sunshine and laughter.

All that glitters

Hello everyone! My last post of the year, and it's a glittery one :-)

Treated myself to these beautiful components from Petra Carpreau's shop. Firstly, these gorgeous porcelain and ceramic triple star stacks with 3 different glazes. Aren't they fantastic?
I added some brass triangles with some African silver spacers, and Hill Tribe silver beads. Cool party
earrings, perfect for the festive  season!
Now this next pair are a commission and feature more of Petra's triple glaze stacks, but this time -pretty circles. This time I wrapped some pretty bronze seed beads around the middle section and added some more gorgeous Hill Tribe silver beads

The star earrings are available in my shop And that's it from me for 2018. Just remains for me to wish you a Happy Christmas and a happy, creative 2019

Stacked earrings

Hello hello hello *waiving like some sort of possessed woman*, how are you all doing? I hope you are enjoying a wonderful day, with sunshine and laughter.

Last Monday I had an earring show on Facebook, which "forced" me to finally sit down and make earrings. Hence the "possessed" woman. Yep, I went on a wild earring creating frenzy.
No time to eat, no time for grocery shopping, just bead bead bead.  And buy buy buy LOL, Because, hey, I was planning to sell earrings, meaning I could use that money to buy new beads. Upfront of course, as I "needed" them to make the earrings for the show. Hubby mumbled a bit in the corner about the illogical thinking and already having more beads than I could ever use. Well, what does he know. Everybody understands a jewelry designer needs beads. Right? Right? Right! And no, I am NOT a bead hoarder. Really, I am not. One day I am going to use them all. Really.

Well, enough of the rambling, it is time to show you some of my creations. I love stacked earrings and I so admire the work of our own Malin de Koning, the stacked earring queen.

Here are some of the pairs. using most Czech glass beads. Of which one can never have enough. Right? Right!

And here a stacked pair with some beautiful ceramic charms made by Petra Carpreau of Scorched Earth and tiny birdies made by Karen Trezise from Ditsy Blue Beads. And of course ear wires made by Lucy Haslam from Faerystones.

Thank you so much for looking and your support for Earrings Everyday :)
And you know I love to read your comments, so don't be shy and leave some words.

Wishing you all a wonderful day, full of sunshine, laughter and love.

New year greetings

Hello peeps,
How are you all doing? I hope you had a wonderful festive season and started the New Year happy and with a smile.
Reading Jetta's post from yesterday I can only nod my head in total agreement. This week I received my order of gorgeous new beads from Petra from Scorched Earth on Etsy, but sadly wasn't able to make any new pair of earrings. So we have to do with a pair I made a while back (2014) with her wonderful charms, a variety of Czech glass beads and earring wires from Lucy Haslam of Faerystone.

Wishing you all a wonderful day, full of joy, laughter and singing birds.
See you next month.

Let it Snow

This weekend we had the first snow of the winter up here in the north of England. We don't have it often, and it wasn't that deep compared to some areas, but still the kids were out on sledges and snowballs were flying. The roof of my conservatory-cum-studio was covered in beautiful ice patterns and I was contemplating the different patterns in the snowflakes. No two snowflakes are alike - each one is formed from a single ice crystal which falls through the atmosphere as snow. I was moved to dig out my stash of snowflake charms for this week's earrings - my last post before Christmas.

And who better to start with than our own Jetta ? These lovely blue and white snowflakes are incredibly detailed. With wooden 'branches' and swarowski pearl snowballs, they have a little winter woolly fibre scarf !

Here we have some vintage BoHulley pure white porcelain charms, with tiny pearls, bright red lampwork, and gingham connectors from Anna Pierson wired in red enamelled copper to Faerystone fancy earwires.

Next up a bit of sheer glamour. Sparkly glossy Petra snowflakes with magnificent swirly silver lampwork beads from Juliette Mullett of Avette Glass.

And the final pair, below - the uniqueness of snowflakes - mismatched stoneware by BoHulley with spotty beads (have I told you Ultraviolet is Pantone Colour of the Year for 2018 - I'm so excited!) with Anna Pierson carved bone birdy nests and Faerystones violet earwires.

So, here we are....Merry Christmas to you all, have a lovely time and see you on the other side!
