Another story

Spikes again from me this week - or one spike, at least.

I'm rather fond of this pair. I've teamed a stray Scorched Earth spike, finished beautifully with a cap of fine silver, with a Ragged Robyn connector.  The connector was one of a pair and I was reluctant to split them up but when this design came to mind I couldn't resist the combination.  I've added in some freshwater pearls and a lovely, glow-y drop of rainbow-coated quartz.

They are almost bridal, but unconventionally so.  They've also got a bit of a winter-y feel, but so has the air here in Somerset of late, so they don't feel too out of season.

They're available here in my Etsy shop.

Bye for now, Claire

  1. absolutely gorgeous. I love that spike bead especially paired with the pearl, I too see them as bridal with an edgy feel. I like the mismatched nature of this pair. I sometimes do this for myself as I'm crazy that way but my customers tend to be a bit more normal so i don't do it often , you did it extremely well

  2. Those are very cool Claire! I always love spikes, but I also love how the banded bead on the one side echoes the stacked heishi on the other, and your pear-shaped pearl echoes the glass drop on the other. And I LOVE those cool, non-colors (makes me think of those white and gray scandinavian interiors.) Great asymmetrical design.

  3. You have inspired me to try something like this for myself, not for sale, as my customers are traditional

  4. These are beautiful Claire! I kind of have the same feeling about them- though I wasn't thinking bridal. Just really feminine and rustic at the same time. Beautiful job combining the two elements and making them really love each other! <3
