Dreaming of David Carradine

For the Bride, at Her Desert Wedding
For some reason, a soon as I finished these I thought of David Carradine. Wha?....Ah! Kill Bill 2, the wedding scene in the desert at the little mission chapel. Which is kind of morbid when I think about it, since Bill shot the Bride in the head. But it all works out in the end with Pai Mei's Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique.

Then the other day I discovered David Carradine died. Four years ago. Boy was I mad.

Of course, you'd have to wear something with these appropriate for being buried alive by Bills' brother. And that could only be denim.

Persimmon Lantern Earrings

A tassel of persimmon colored Czech glass beads sway below a polymer clay bead in a floral design. These remind me of Chinese lanterns and the 1920's.  I'm looking forward to the flapper revival thanks to the upcoming Great Gatsby!

Lantern Earrings can be found in my Etsy shop.  Use discount code HOLLY for 25% off your entire purchase until 12/15.

I have a Zen girl on my shopping list, my 16 year old daughter, and I will be making her a lantern style pendant like the one featured below.  If  you happen to have a girl who loves all things from Eastern cultures, you might like a few of the gift ideas below.   I know my holiday shopping is never complete without a trip to World Market and few interesting Etsy shops.

The Last Leaf

Snow is now covering the ground outside. But that doesn't mean that there aren't a few leaves still clinging to the trees.

These pretty leaves from Humblebeads are my favorite new beads of 2012. I simply cannot get enough of them! I think I have them in every color and size that she makes. I created The Last Leaf earrings from these golden tipped leaves, peanut beads, Czech glass in a deep red berry and an old gold on fancy copper headpins dangling from rose gold ear wires.

I would wear them with this fringed cowlneck sweater

{fringed cowlneck from Anthropologie}
and these brass heeled knee boots

Romantique Filigree

I have used these thick filigree pieces on quite a few pairs of earrings and I truly love them. They make the earrings feel so romantic and elegant. You may have guessed I have a bit of a romantic side by now? lol
They are long, and long to me stands out. I want my earrings to stand out, why wear them otherwise? All Brass and lampwork beads, perfect to wear all year! You can Find them HERE in my Etsy shop as well as many other things.

Copper Frost

I wanted to make a pair of flirty and kind of glam earrings for the holiday season and this is what I came up with. I've had these pretty copper acrylic hoops for YEARS and finally dug them out to put them to good use. I paired them with some matte silver chain and Swarovski crystals.

I think they'd be fab with this ensemble....
