Bohemian Fringe

These earrings took quite a bit of time because the design was in my head but just took awhile to come to fruition. I love them though and plan on making a pair for myself in silver and turquoise. They are quite dramatic and sexy at four inches in length!

They would look fab with this ensemble found on Pinterest. Original source unknown.

You will find these earrings for sale here and many other pieces on my website

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Neutrals

As a designer who is constantly challenging myself using color, this time around I wanted to create something a bit more neutral for the blog today. These delicate dangles feature some beautiful Smoky Quartz beads in a unique squared rectangle shape. I layered these beads with some deep red garnet drops and some tiny freshwater pearls.  I think that these muted tones could be worn with anything and always look great!

A touch of Vintage

Inspired by something I was at a glance worn by someone on a TV show. I really liked the idea of a simple bead dangling from a stem. It looked simple but elegant with a touch of rustic fun!
I made two pairs that have different colours of beads and different styles of bead caps. The tubes are Vintage upcycled brass tubes that I took off of a necklace ages ago. I have kept them for something special and used 4 with these. I am very pleased with the results. You can find these and many other earrings in my Jewelry Shop on Etsy. I hope you go pay a little visit and have a look around!

Sea Flowers

I haven't been doing much creating lately...the last week has gone by in a blur!  My son started middle school, then Thursday, he had the audacity to turn 11! Imagine that!  Then it was Labor Day weekend, and my birthday, and now a week later I am back at my 9-5!

I was surfing around Pinterest and found this pretty fabric swatch from JoAnn.com with chartreuse and blue flowers.  I thought, "hmm...this is really pretty. I think I have beads in those colors...what can I make?"

These are what I came up with...

Czech glass beads in pretty shades of blue and chartreuse green, sterling silver and some fabulous Hill Tribe silver ornate caps I forgot I had!

These colors are so calming to me...colors of the sea!  As ready as I am for Autumn weather and the rich colors the season brings,  these earrings are a reminder that summer isn't quite over yet!!

Starry Skies

Without a lot of time to work lately I decided to show you something that I made about a month ago. Fun Polymer Clay stars with loads of dangles! Surprisingly light for their size!
For my American Friends the 4th of July will be here before you know it so why not celebrate in style!

Heart of Hearts

These earrings just spell out Feminine! I love the wonderful shabby chic hearts and the softness of the ribbon. My favorite colours tend to be in the greens, so the crystals emanate that. The extra detail on the earwires just make me smile!
When you are feeling nostalgic, or you need that extra boost of girlishness without all the pink froo-froo, this is a nice go to set!

You can find these Earrings and many other pairs in my Etsy shop.

Fire and Ice

Ice and fire - reason and passion.

It's best to keep a little of both in everything you do.

Earrings feature Arte Metal leaves in a graphic design.  Poised above them are branch beads in fiery copper and rhinestones and Czech glass in the frosty shades of ice.  A tiny flower pokes out of the top, tempered by both elements in shades of muted peach.

And a bracelet to match, using a collection of seed beads and a mirror of the earring components used as charms.

Sapphire Blues

Most colours have always held some inspiration to me in one way or another. The ones I tend to use the most are in the green tones, but Blue is as always fabulously versatile! The magnificent multitude of shades in this particular colour is astounding! You can find them everywhere! Nature is always my biggest inspiration, so look up at your sky and think of all the shades you see! If it's early morning, you may have some pale shades with some brighter blue tones here and there, if it's evening it may have a greyer hue. Look at water reflecting the sky and it turns those same blues into deeper shades!

Need an idea of what to wear with these? Found this amazingly sexy and elegant dress on Pintrest! I prefer something a little longer myself, but why not! lol I of course would put her hair up so you can see the earrings! :)
I hope you feel inspired to wear something new!

A Pair of Magic Scepters

The design for these earrings morphed over a long period of time, initially spurred by some of Kristi Bowman-Gruel's earrings. I love how she stacked the lampwork on top of the charm, making it seem like one piece. Then I was kind of intrigued by Blackstar's bullet earrings. Both of those ideas lay percolating in the back of my mind, and eventually became infused with imagery from too much Harry Potter and Middle Earth exposure. (Pardon me, my geek is showing.)

My first brainstorm was to use a metal bar and a dagger type bead to create a sort of Magic Barbarian Spear (Plain Barbarian Spears are so drab), but then in the midst of sawing copper tubing for tube beads for other purposes I had a EUREKA! moment. How about a copper tube bead, textured and perhaps adorned with  some wire, and a glass teardrop? Upside-down. It would be like a MAGIC SCEPTER!! But upside down. Like if you hung your Magic Scepter from the coat rack when you weren't using it.

I would envision these earrings worn with the garb below (this would of course be more of an evening look):

Or perhaps this for daytime:

(This would be more of a Magic Urban Scepter look, you know, like from Underworld. Like when Selene is just chillin' and her vinyl outfit is at the cleaners.)
