Unusual, Irregular and kinda Sexy

I have absolutely no idea how this design came to fruition.  The hoops were actually irregular squares to start.  Taking my pliers to them, I worked them to long ovals. I don't remember where I was going with that thought, but looking across my work bench, I saw this enameled blue chain link that I purchased at Hobby Lobby a long time ago. The two looked pretty sweet together, however I had to get creative on how to attach the links to the hoops vertically and tight so they wouldn't slide all over the place.

Unfortunately the links did not match up to the size of my hoops, (keep in mind this was a design in progress and I would have made the hoops fit to size), nevertheless, I took 28 gauge thin wire and threaded it through the links winding it over the hoop ends reinforcing with a dab of super glue.  I know....super glue?? I don't have the means to solder in my current work space, but I'll tell ya, those babies aren't going anywhere.  I added the stones of Citrine at the bottom to bring out the tones of the brass around the blue links.  I was quite thrilled with the end result.

So that's my lesson learned for the day, as it turned out on a positive note.  I plan on making more of these with different chain links and drops, the possibilities are quite endless.

Thanks for visiting and we'll see you again in two weeks,
Lynn♥

Holiday Hoops ♪♫♪♫♪♫

I would have to say hoops are my favorite earrings, perhaps it shows my age, I don't know, it's what I wore wore back in the 70's and 80's, and the bigger the better.
These colorful lovelies are no exception.

I purchase the brass blanks and do all of the painting myself.  It's not really that hard since the pattern is already there for you, a little time consuming, but I've done enough pairs to have the process pretty much nailed down. After paint and seal, I bend them to shape, punch holes and apply the ear wires.

I think these could pass as holiday Poinsettia's don"t you?

I've painted many summer bouquet's as well, the fun part is, I never know where the process is going end up, I just keep adding color on top of color ♥

So go buy some brass blanks you admire,  acrylic paints and a fine paint brush and let that inner artist glow!!!

Tutorial for Hoop Earrings

Hello, hello, hello!

How have you all been?

It's been awhile and I've been busy making a lot of changes on my website - which is still not reopen for business. There's a lot of changes, and it's going to take a bit longer than I thought.

Since my site is not ready yet, and I don't have new earrings ready to share at this point, I wanted to share one of my very popular video Tutorials that I have on my YouTube Channel - with over 30,000 views, it has helped many make hoops fast and easy to do.

It's a video that I filmed back in 2010. I hope you will enjoy it and try making your own hoops :)

But you don't have to stop there, you can embellish your hoops with 'drops' and also wire wrap some pretty beads all around too :)

Regular Sterling Silver hoops - these are made with 16 gauge wire (for those with larger holes)

You can wire wrap some pretty beads and gemstones around the hoops for a totally different look :)

You can use 14kt Gold Filled wire, or Rose Gold wire to make sparkling gold hoops for the holidays!

I hope that this tutorial will help you make hoops faster.
Everyone works differently. I just find it nice to be able to watch someone make something and learn how they do it...

Thanks for watching and I hope you'll give these a try!

Floral Hoops

These beaded copper hoops were so fun to create. Shannon of MissFickleMedia crafted these fine hoops for easy embellishments. I added some lampwork glass, tagua nuts, carved bone, chain, carnelian and silver flower drops.
The inspiration behind these earrings came from this sweet floral top from Sundance Catalog. Make a colorful statement with either of these fashionable pretties!

You can find these new earrings at my webstore!
