Hoarders challenge continues

Hello lovelies,

How are you all doing? I hope you are all enjoying wonderful spring weather. Here in Greece, the sun is shining and it is 24 degrees Celsius. Birds are singing, flowers are blooming, just wonderful.
And I am continuing my self-imposed challenge of using long hoarded beads for the earrings made for this blog.

I never would have picked the color combo pink and blue until one of my wonderful customers requested a bracelet in pink and white, with a dot of mint blue for some contrast. That color combo turned out great. My hoarders pick for today's earrings were sort of mint blue... so why not combining it with beautiful pastel pink?

Ceramic disc beads by Bo Hulley Beads, one of my favorite ceramic bead makers. I have used many of her beads in the past and have hoarded even more. At the moment she is taking a break, but she will be back. Combined with some brass rings in which I managed to fit tiny Czech glass beads; vintage lucite bead caps, pearls in a wonderful soft pastel pink and more Czech glass (o-ring and firepolished bead).

These will be available this week in my shop.
Thank you so much for looking and I hope to see you in a couple of weeks.
Here on Earrings Everyday we appreciate and love to read your comments. So don't be shy and let us know your thoughts.
Wishing you a wonderful day, full of joy, flowers and singing birds.

In the zone

Last Tuesday Norbel was talking about creating something and not really remembering the time spent doing it. That little space of time where the rest of the world doesn’t exist. I think of that space as “the zone”. Creating while being in the zone is wonderful. It seems the designs create themselves. These pieces are generally my best designs. I can always tell which pieces aren’t. And after a while, when these "not in the zone" pieces aren't sold I take them apart and re-use the components.

As with these pair of earrings. Something was missing. These earrings didn’t have a voice, they didn’t sing. They were not made in the zone.

So I took them apart and created something else with the beautiful ceramic leaf charms made by Bo Hulley Beads. Combined with Czech glass and some brass elements, these earrings practically designed themselves.

Can you tell I was in the zone, while making these? These are available in my shop.

Thank you for stopping by. I wish you a wonderful day.

Polka Stacks

Poor Keirsten is under the weather (get well soon, Kiersten!), so you've got me again today.  I've been making lots of these wire-wrapped stack earrings recently.

These, as you'll probably recognise, were made with a pair of Bo Hulley's polka dot rounds.  It's funny; I've had them for ages.  I was lucky enough to be paired with Bo in a Secret Santa swap that was run in a beady facebook group the Christmas before last. (Yep, I was very chuffed!)  I received four pairs of them in my parcel. 'Perfect', I thought, 'I'll be making earrings with these'.  However, despite taking them out of my stash numerous times, I kept failing to find something a bit different to do with them.  Now, finally, I've found a design with which I'm happy.  So much so, I've made a couple of pairs.

Am I allowed to share two pairs of earrings in the one post?  I'll blame it on being a newbie!  I have one pair of polka dot beads left.  I reckon I know what I'll be doing with them... This second pair has sold but the first pair are available here in my Etsy shop.

Bye for now, Claire
