Strength in nature

Trees are healing, nurturing and comforting,

not only to us, humans, but to animals and our entire planet.

 I was inspired to create this week's pair of earrings

by my latest watercolor painting called Strength...

Strength Trees Of Life Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings with Gemstones by Nathalie Lesage

I pulled the colors for the gemstones from my painting, and painstakingly created two fairly similar Trees Of Life using 26g Sterling Silver wire. It takes patience to work with the delicate wire, and try to make the small 1" trees come out as similar as possible.

The gemstones that I used are all AAA... Purple Garnet (amazing purple color),

Green Tourmaline, Neon Aqua Apatite from Brazil, and Carnelian.

Radiate!

Over the past few months, I've renewed with something I used to do when I was little.... 

watercolor paintings :)

I've done some oil paintings (just a few) in the past, and various types of crafts where I'd paint wood with acrylic paints, etc.... but maybe it's the tie-dye hippie in my soul, 

I've always been so incredibly attracted to the cool effects of watercolor paints.

So today, I though I'd share one of my recent paintings with you,

and how it inspired me to create the earrings that I'm showcasing here.

This is a rather bold 'in your face' kind of sun, with stormy and happy colors in the sky. It was meant that way. This is a more raw, 'primal' painting, because the message that I wanted to spread in the world is very basic, but powerful:

The energy that you "radiate' out into the world comes from the core of your soul.

MAKE IT STRONG, BRIGHT, AND POSITIVE...

ENERGIZE EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU.

If you feel that your energy is lacking, weak, or negative, etc. Make time for yourself...

Rest, meditate, do some basic yoga, stretch, take some quiet time, breathe.

 My painting inspired me to create this earrings design:

The energy of life in the circles, the 'rays' of sunshine in the hemp cords where I've tied tiny bright yellow glass beads, the stormy and happy colors of the sky in the center smaller flat discs. 

Energy, positive and negative,

can be channeled and be put to work in a very uplifting way.

These cool frosted (etched) artisan lampwork glass discs come from Two Sisters Designs on Etsy.

Simple wrap of Sterling Silver, knotted hemp cords and suspended on Titanium Ear Wires.

Very light and, dare I say it... radiant? ;)

We're All Ears :: February Inspiration + Earring Love Fest!

Hello lovelies!

I just want to take a moment and thank you for your support of Earrings Everyday. This month marks the one year anniversary of the We're All Ears challenge. This is something I wanted to do to involve all our lovely readers in each month, also to challenge myself, and I really had no idea of how much you would enjoy it! You get to watch us share our favorite earring designs, but this challenge calls you to be creative. This month with the dead of winter pressing down on me, I needed to find a little color. Just a bit. Okay. A LOT! And I found it in the form of these brilliant watercolor illustrations paired with fresh flowers for swoon-worthy art. I could not decide which one I liked best, so I included a whole garden of the flower girls for your inspiration. See for yourself the soft ethereal wonders...

Malaysian artist and photographer Lim Zhi Wei (a.k.a Limzy) is the creator of these whimsical flower girls. She has a passion for turning every day objects into things of delicate beauty. For 2015, Limzy created a very limited run of a calendar of her Flowergirls. How marvelous would it be to gaze on those dreamy beauties every day of the year! The beauty of this art is that it is ephemeral. It will not last. Yet Limzy has captured the essence of the bloom in such a spectacularly unique way and preserved it in her prints.
