Earring Display :: SOPHilosophy

With an almost-teenage girl in my house, and a studio burgeoning with pretty baubles for your ears, you can imagine that we have a lot of earrings to wrangle. Recently, we made a sweet little earring holder to get this tangled mess under control. I don't have the right pictures to share that with you yet, but soon I will have a tutorial for you on how to make your own. In light of the fact that I am leaving for ArtBliss in just two days (so excited!), and I hosted a fundraiser for my Pop-a-Dot jewelry last night (so tired!), I have no new earrings to share. So I thought I would share this clever and elegant earring holder with you.

I stumbled across this new earring holder created by Sophia Weinstein of SOPHilosophy. She has created an artful and beautiful way to display earrings that I think would be appealing for girls of all ages!

{This one reminds me of a more grown up and fancy dream catcher, and the little tails are perfect for attaching barettes!}
 {The detail on the pattern for this one is exquisite. Like a dew covered spider web, glistening in the sun. This looks to be her best seller, and it is easy to see why.}

{Close up of the detail. Lots of places to hang your earring collection!}

{Such a clever, tactile and functional piece of art!}

{This right here is the picture that stopped me in my tracks. What a beautiful suncatcher! Imagine this filled with your glittering gemstones, glass beads and glinting metal. Could be displayed right in your window!}
 I can see hanging one of these in my bathroom in a soft blue and grey pattern because it would be a pretty and functional decoration, but I can tell you that my daughter would dig an orange tie dyed look as well. And Miss Sophia does entertain custom orders. They are fairly inexpensive. Ranging from $18-30, so this would make a great gift for the upcoming holiday season. With a pair of your own earrings attached, of course! ;-)

Earring Display: Monogram It

I discovered a site called Earring Holder Gallery. Their motto is "If you see them, you will wear them." So true! I can't count the number of earrings that I have forgotten about or thought lost, only to find them lurking in the back of a drawer someplace. I love monograms and especially fonts. This Monogram Swirl display brings together those two loves and solves the dilemma of what to do with all those earrings I have amassed. I think that this display from Earring Holder gallery would be a beautiful gift to give to the girl who just got her ears pierced... with a few pairs of earrings attached of course!

And for a clever add-on, their Jewelry Sticks are designed to complement the earring displays and when hung underneath the display allows you to untangle your necklaces and bracelets as well!

Earring Display: All Scrolled Up

This earring holder arrives as a scroll with your choice of colored balls that you unroll, hang and simply pop your earrings through the screen. What could be easier than that? Find this jewelry display in Honeysuckle Rose and other colors from Glasswear on Etsy.

Earring Display: Hidden Storage

I love sleek and functional and that is exactly what this Bamboo Earring Holder from Bamboo Blossom Craft on Etsy is all about. It is created from sustainable bamboo and finished with a protective coating that is used for furniture and cabinet making. There is a set of slotted acrylic panels that have been cut to house dozens of earrings. And there is a mirror on the front so that you can see how the earrings look. It is so minimalist and simple, yet it hides a lot of earrings that won't get tangled in your jewelry box. That is clever!

Earring Display: Powder-Coated Metal Jewelry Organizer

AngelynnesOriginals on Etsy offers up a host of really interesting and unique jewelry organizers like this one above. They are all made in the USA from high quality, powder-coated metal. They would be as at home in your bathroom as in a boutique situation. They are available in various finishes from silver, brown and black to match any decor. I like the fact that there are multiple uses for this organizer. It might help me straighten out the mess in my jewelry box!

Bamboo Butterflies

Have you ever come across a display idea so beautiful, so clever that it made you gasp? That is exactly what I thought when I saw the amazing Bamboo Butterfly display from Etsy seller Carissa of PeshkiShop.

The display hangs slightly apart from the wall causing a play of light and shadows from the cutouts. The sweet fluttering wings burned into the sustainable bamboo wood are such a delightful touch. Functional art!

Now I need to see what it would take to mail this to me all the way from New Zealand! ;-)

Driftwood Earring Holder

Another earth-friendly earring holder - a piece of driftwood with eye hooks.  This would look so lovely paired up with some urchins or shells on a dresser. This clever idea came from Salvage Sisters.

Twig Earring Holder

Swoon!  Twig earring holder from Pottery Barn - this is so me.  I would sport this on my dresser, I would use two of them in a booth display.  The little side twigs hold bracelets or necklaces.  How very clever.  I would probably match it up with a mirror framed with real twigs.

Would it be too much to only display bird, nest, tree and leaf themed earrings on them?  Over the top - just a smidge?  But darling!

Monogram Earring Holder

I love this earring holder, it is a perfect gift idea.  I know a couple of lucky teens who will be getting this from me along with a few pairs of earrings for Christmas!  I think it would cute without the flower too for a more grown-up look.

The free tutorial is from Positively Splendid and can be found here.
