Sunshine And Flowers

I made a bracelet last week, about which my husband said, "It's pretty, but aren't those kind of Autumn colors?". Well, yes. So today I decided to go for sunshine and flowers. No mistaking which season these are for!
I started with two of my handmade ceramic ovals which I combined with some new brass ovals. My first design had a large flower above the brass ring, but the earrings ended up measuring 3.25 inches long! Back to the drawing board.
In this version, I used smaller orange glass flowers which I topped with brass filigree bead caps. I dangled the flowers in front of the brass and the ceramic ovals. You can find these earrings in my shop now.
There's a lot of upheaval and unknowns in our world right now, which can make earrings seem almost frivolous. But the creative heart finds balance in the act of making. I hope you are doing ok, as we each seek to make the world a safer and more loving place. I'm sending out big hugs. 💕

Blossoming.

Spring is beginning to make itself felt even up here in the north of England and we've had two or three days of lovely blue skies and sunshine. It was Mother's Day here on Sunday and my house is awash with plants and flowers of all colours and scents. Close your eyes and smell hyacinths - it's just the best!

Today's pretty pink blossom earrings are made with beautifully detailed enamels from  Linda Younkman . I've had quite a few pairs of Linda's enamels and been really pleased with the quality and unusual shapes of every one. Vintaj black arte chain and jump rings hold a bouquet of small Czech glass flowers and the swirly pink lampwork is from another northern English lass, Joanne Joyce. My mate Lucy Haslam made the beaten copper circular earwires for me at her home in Wales.

Just like having a bunch of flowers in your ears.

Enjoy the weather, wherever you are!

                                                                  See you next time

Boho--Whoa!

My son Jesse is flying in from Denver tomorrow for a short visit, and I'm madly preparing the house of course, so I needed to make this week's post simpler and shorter than usual.

For this post I thought I'd try making some "Boho--Whoa!" (or Maximum Boho) earrings using some components I'd been hoarding.  I chose beautiful teal lampies by Beth Mellor of Beeboo and gorgeous textured ceramic pieces by Karen Totten of Starry Road Studio.  I added coordinating Czech glass flowers and discs and copper beads, perfect to make what I saw in my mind's eye...

Boho Whoa! earrings can be found here.

For me, these pretties are definitely maximum, beautiful Boho, and I had a wonderful time making them. Thanks so much for looking, and I'll see you in a couple of weeks!

xoxo
