High Flyin' with Zooey

I love Zooey Deschanel.

She is quirky and cute. She has a vintage style with an edge. She is beautiful and smart, sassy and funny. She is a breath of fresh air.

I love her show "New Girl." In it she is described as "simply adorkable." She truly is, but it is the perfect vehicle for her true personality to shine.

Zooey loves dresses, especially ones with a sweet vintage flair, and she is always seen in the cutest shoes. Don't you think she could rock her style in this vintage dress with these High Flyin' earrings?

The lacy brass edge of the 'simple truths' style bird charm complements her vintage vibe, and the color would make her brilliant blue eyes sparkle.

I think that they are fun and flirty, just like Zooey.

Zooey Deschanel is definitely my IT girl.

If anyone knows her and wants to send her my way, I would be much obliged. ;-)

Grecian Goddess

Playing around, trying to make something different, something interesting. I have been feeling very "romantic" if you will, I want texture, layers, detail. These have a touch of whimsy to them and I really think they stand out next to all the other things I have been making lately. Green Gold, vines and a little sparkle! Wear them with something that makes you feel sexy or romantic... like this Grecian Goddess Gown perhaps!

Painted Birds

In the months before I played around with alcohol inks and Vintaj, I used some acrylic paints to experiment on various metal components like I did with these birds. After achieving the look I wanted, I sanded and sealed them. I still really like these earrings (even if they haven't sold yet-boo) and I should probably dig those paints back out sometime.

I think these earrings would look fab with this dress (hair up of course to show off the earrings!).

Velvet and Brocade

Happy New Year to you all!  I am so excited and honored to have been asked to be a contributor here on Earrings Everyday. I look forward to sharing my take on earrings...my most favorite things to create!  As you will see, I tend to have a very eclectic style and like to incorporate a wide variety of elements and materials.

My inspiration for today's post comes from 2 of my favorite textiles...velvet and brocade...soft, warm, lush...inviting!  These etched copper and artisan glass earrings remind me of those textures...I etched the copper discs with a brocade-like swirly design and the glass beads by Jelveh Designs have a very "textile-like" look to them.  I purposefully used sterling wire with the copper to bring out the metallic sheen on Jelveh's beads, but accented the earwires with tiny copper balls.

I can totally see myself wearing them with this cool velvet coat I found....minus the red tam!

Let it Snow

The lack of snow in the upstate NY area has had people down in the dumps. Just this week we got our first 3 inches on the ground! Let it snow Let it snow Let it SNOOOOOW!
Pretty blue porcelain links are jazzed up with some deep teal ceramic rounds, and rust colored plastic "snowflakes". These earrings would be great for the winter season and the blue is the most eye-catching color!

These earrings can be found in my etsy shop, Lorelei Eurto Jewelry.

Winter Leaves

Today is a good day to reflect on the coming year - 363 more days of possibilities laid out before us.  If the New Year brings nothing else, may it bring hope.  Like an evergreen branch in a barren winter landscape, there is the promise of renewal around us.

These patina leaves remind of those hardy winter branches of holly with a light dusting of snow beneath the green.  I paired them with navy blue disk beads with a winter branch design.  You can find these Winter Leaves in my Etsy shop.  Use discount code NewYear for 20% off my shop until Midnight tonight.

If I were to pair these earrings up with some New Year gear I would opt for a travel bag because you never know what adventures await.  A handmade journal for capturing some of those possibilities and wonderful dreams and wishes.  And then I'd wrap myself in some comfort like this hand-knitted scarf because if I have one New Year's resolution it's to take very good care of myself this year.
