Spring Flowers!

I have been feeling spring inspired lately! I can't wait for my trees to start blooming in the backyard. I am so done with winter! I think my kids are there too, one of the refused to wear anything but shorts to school today! What can you do!
I fell in love with these flower beads and I hope you will too. I took the time to decorate the earwires to make them extra special.
You will be able to find these in my Etsy shop this morning. I have a lot of new pieces going in in the next couple days, so stop by often!

Leaping Greenly

My favorite e.e. cummings poem and some play time with shrink plastic awash in translucent inky swipes inspired these earrings I call 'Leaping Greenly.' The tiny strips of plastic are paired with some of my hoarded Humblebeads and Czech faceted glass beads. I am longing for the return of green and the tender shoots reaching toward the sun that I know is up there somewhere.
{'Leaping Greenly' earrings available in my Tesori Trovati website}

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday;this is the birth
day of life and love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

Weeping Willow Earrings in Steampunk!

This month is a very special month for me. I am the Bead Partner for Vintaj Natural Brass. I have been using Vintaj since almost the very beginning of my Jewelry making career and I LOVE their products! It was an honour to be invited to participate in this program. I think the pieces that the Vintaj team have created are astounding and Gorgeous! I have created a few pieces myself, to help inspire you on how to use my wood tiles. But that is for my Skye Jewels blog, so follow me there to see more.
I created these Asymmetrical earrings using these fun tiles from my Weeping Willow collection. I will make more and add them to my Supply shop for those of you who create your own jewelry. For those of you who don't or just really LOVE to buy earrings, you will find these in my Jewelry Shop!

I hope you are curious about what the Weeping Willow challenge is all about and will take a minute to visit the Vintaj Blog to learn more about it.

Thanks for visiting

Serendipitous..

I love that word!  It describes how I feel about the creation/evolution of these earrings!

I had etched a big copper disk a couple of weeks ago when I was writing this post over at Art Jewelry Elements.  This past weekend, it was on my beading table at exactly the right moment when I needed something pretty to fasten a length of leather cord to a chain necklace for my Bead Soup piece.  I cut the center strip out of the disk and rolled it up into a tube!

Fast forward to last night, as I suddenly remembered that today was indeed my day to post here.  I saw the curled up scraps from cutting the center strip out of the disk and was like,"hmm, these are to pretty to ditch...I wonder if I can use them for earrings?"

So I did!  At first that were going to hang horizontally, with chain connecting them to the earwires, but after turning them around a bit, I liked the mirror image vertical look much better.  To bring the bling, I added some faceted chalcedony briolettes in a finish called "Mystic Mango" by the seller!

Add a fun, flowy spring blouse and your favorite jeans, and you are ready to go!

These will be up in my shops later today!

Polynesian Princess

Daydreaming lately of white sandy beaches, bright blue waters, scuba diving etc etc. How I would LOVE to just run away to the Polynesian islands and be spoiled by sunshine and waves. Fun earrings that feature some pretty amazing polymer clay coins by Pam Wynn beads.  I hand-formed some thick wide brass wire and riveted them with screw rivets, dangling the beaded headpins inside.

Here's some inspiration for you on this pretty Spring day...

Chambray and Sunstone

One of my favorite things to wear is a chambray shirt. They are always in style, in the midwest anyway. A chambray shirt and jeans are my standard "uniform". This combo can be dressed up any number of ways, and never loses its casual appeal.

My earrings are sunstone and soft blue amazonite with patinated copper. The wires have been hammered and patinaed. Then I have wrapped a seed bead in African Sunset on each one for a punch of color. The earrings are fairly easy to make and have a simple rustic look, a great combination that is perfect with your favorite jeans.

Medieval Spring

Medieval Spring
I had an idea some time ago for a beadcap made of two strips of metal, riveted together. Here is my thought experiment made reality! I couldn't figure out how to fasten them together (while avoiding soldering) until I discovered tube rivets. I love the medieval feel they have. I chose hollow lampwork globes by Alisha White in a taupey-mauve to debut my little medieval caps, and combined them with pearls and Czech glass in a fresh peridot green. Springy!

I picture them with a drapey gown, vaguely medieval (with a touch of 1930s Hollywood glam):

You can see more at my Etsy shop HERE. I hope to be making a few more earrings in this style with the rest of my Alisha White hollow globes!

Sunny Disposition

{Sunny Disposition - for sale at my website}
Yellow is a hard color for me. I have exactly one sweater in my closet that is yellow and I hardly ever wear it because I am not convinced that I look good in this color. But yet, I do love it. It is bright and cheery. You can't help but be happy when you see it.

I found these sweet little ceramic charms at Michaels part of the limited edition Jennifer Jangles line. You simply must go and get some for yourself!

I whipped up these sweet little dangles with two of the yellow flower charms on some wire that I formed like a little leaf. I wrapped that with some peridot colored wire and topped it off with some tiny red glass flowers on the ear wires.

Perfectly paired with this cute little scalloped edge dress in a bright pop of yellow that says, "Hello world! I have a sunny disposition!"

3D Texture Love!

What is better than texture in your jewelry! I love being able to feel different layers of materials and finishes. These wonderful Fleur De Lis charms are the perfect example! So much to feel! They are wonderfully light too because they are made of polymer clay. These are in my favorite colour, green!
I am never one to not give you selection! These stunning charms were created by the same person and I could not resist making them into a romantic and feminine pair of earrings.

Don't miss out on these and many others in my Etsy shop!! Use your exclusive EARRINGSEVERYDAY coupon to save on your purchase!

Flower Child

I have etched brass disks and embellished them with pretty Czech glass in shades of spring!  In keeping with what seems to be my "go-to" design sensibility, I have "put a flower on it"

I would love to wear this with a long, flowy, romantic skirt and sandals if it would ever get warm enough to do so!  I saw this on Pinterest the other day, and may actually give it a go!

the Good Life

I had some punched out discs on my worktable and thought I'd put them to better use by stamping some words on them and making earrings with them. Waste Not Want Not? is that the saying? I dunno.
Anyway, I created the discs while a song called Good Life was playing on my ipod.  Hence the inspiration for the text I chose for these discs. Next, searching for something to dangle below.
I recently traded some beads with a FB friend/customer and she sent me these very uniquely shaped Jade beads. When I saw that the hole was across the top of the bead, like a brio, I imagined they looked very much like vases. And so. I added some glass flowers.

These are available for sale in my Etsy shop!

Bohemian?

Bohemian See Glass Earrings with Copper

"To take the world as one finds it, the bad with the good, making the best of the present moment—to laugh at Fortune alike whether she be generous or unkind—to spend freely when one has money, and to hope gaily when one has none—to fleet the time carelessly, living for love and art—this is the temper and spirit of the modern Bohemian in his outward and visible aspect. It is a light and graceful philosophy, but it is the Gospel of the Moment, this exoteric phase of the Bohemian religion; and if, in some noble natures, it rises to a bold simplicity and naturalness, it may also lend its butterfly precepts to some very pretty vices and lovable faults, for in Bohemia one may find almost every sin save that of Hypocrisy. ..."

"His faults are more commonly those of self-indulgence, thoughtlessness, vanity and procrastination, and these usually go hand-in-hand with generosity, love and charity; for it is not enough to be one’s self in Bohemia, one must allow others to be themselves, as well. ...
What, then, is it that makes this mystical empire of Bohemia unique, and what is the charm of its mental fairyland? It is this: there are no roads in all Bohemia! One must choose and find one’s own path, be one’s own self, live one’s own life."
